Promos tonight?
I am the polar opposite of hyped about the fact that they're putting a taunt with a fucking metal guitar in TF2. Regular unfitting items can be fixed with skins, but what can one do about a taunt? I'm cautiously optimistic about the hair, though.
Unfitting? They are in the 60-70s
Tonight'll be the night.
My loadout is ready.
Does the spy even have any hair items? How's this going to work on him?
It'll add a bunch of lumps to the top and back of the balaclava.
How the fuck could a metal guitar be unfitting?
It doesn't fit in with the style of such things TF2 is known for, such as DethKapp and the Machina
Well Considering tf2 takes place in the late 1960's and that rock and heavy metal were popularized in the very early 70's this is probably one of the more time accurate based promos.
It doesn't fit in with the style of such things TF2 is known for, such as DethKapp and the Machina
A metal guitar, unlike those two, is a part of our real world, and TF2 is mostly based on the 60-70s, metal guitars existed back then.
How the fuck could a metal guitar be unfitting?
Aluminum bats, Metal guitars, everything metal related is unfitting Except Refined Metal, that's just useless these days
Except Refined Metal, that's just useless these days
At least they're not pennies. :v:
At least they're not pennies. :v:
According to tumblr, pennies are very fitting in the TF2 universe
It doesn't fit in with the style of such things TF2 is known for, such as DethKapp and the Machina
The usual consensus is that we shouldn't be using items such as this to justify more items such as this.
Maybe Spy's version of the taunt will be like this "Well, the moment has passed. Back to work!"
Would fit the sniper better
According to tumblr, pennies are very fitting in the TF2 universe
Nonono, I mean the Refined Metal aren't as useless as pennies, I didn't say it wasn't fitting.
IF your using virtual box i would transfer over the .gcf files from windows/mac to linux using shared folders. IF not, then you'll have to download the old fashioned way. And if you mean running it, I'm pretty sure it just crashes no matter what anyways so.
lol im using wubi
Anyone else getting this weird-ass error from Steam?
That would be a problem with windows itself (programs like Steam are supposed to be unable to refer to devices like that unless they're VERY shittily coded - I could be wrong please don't quote me on this). Those of you rating this post agree, try defragmenting your hard-drives and see what happens.
Promos tonight?
Do they ever add anything on weekends?
I wonder how BL is going to run on the PC, which is why I'm hesitant to get it.
Hm. I don't want to start an argument. I find the esthetics of vanilla TF2 really cool and unique and I think it's a bloody shame Valve started cramming the game full of the kind of random pop cultural mishmash you can find anywhere else, but I'm aware that most people have a different opinion, and they're of course perfectly well entitled to keep it. With that being said, I don't think 'being from the 60s' is the only requirement to make something fitting. It's a matter of setting, design and mood as well. And in those respects, I'd say there's a pretty big difference between these two things: [t]http://storefront.steampowered.com/v/gfx/apps/225260/extras/bl_heavy_small.png[/t] [t]http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090324200820/half-life/en/images/5/5d/Hydro_concept1.jpg[/t]
also it appears scribblenauts has been released everywhere else today so we may be getting a patch to add the bl promos and the cockfighter tradable

A random man, gives the heavy a random guitar, the heavy, as he is an idiot, doesn't know what to do with it, so, why not just bash the enemies' heads off with it?
Fairly sure such guitars existed back then, maybe not as modernly designed, but they existed to some degree. Not to say it makes perfect sense for a fat bald(the mullet is totally not a wig) russian man to be playing one with such giant hands. Imagine trying to strum that thing with such fat sausage fingers. A nightmare, i say.

And I got the idea that heavy was meant to be an intelligent man with a limited understanding of the language but either way, he isn't mentally ill.

I don't see what's so bad about a good mullet, and a good taunt.
Can I ask why are we discussing about the art style and time period for the promos? It's 2013 guys, we should care about that the BL promo items looks FUCKING AMAZING, and that makes me happy in my pants.
so even if my tf2 crashes at the startup i get tux?
Well, not only did Ubuntu not work on my computer, it also managed to destroy my Windows 8. Fixed it afterwards, thank god.
so even if my tf2 crashes at the startup i get tux?
I have read some people got it even if the game crashes. Look in any website your backpack and see if the Tux is there.
I'm hardly saying the promos are bad. If anything, they're some of the best promos we've had in a good while. New animations ALONE is bonus points.
