I was going to say it. I had DX8 ahd could upgrade to a better card for just 32 euros so yes, it's easy to upgrade to DX9.
Not if you have a laptop :v:
You can always use some duct tape but I don't think it'd work
But (this is an example), if I bought a game 3 years ago on this computer and it was working fine, don't you think it's legitimate to expect the game to still be working fine now?
It's like if you buy a 3DS game and later on you can't play it anymore unless you upgrade to a 3DS XL
Ideally you'd still be able to play TF2. Just new additions might not be 100% bug free, and only gamebreaking bugs would be fixed.
There's no reason time needs to be spent fixing burn overlay on every new cosmetic added for a minuscule portion of the player base.
Where are you getting the statistic for less than 1% of players using dx8? I know a large proportion of competetive players use it even if the game is playable in dx9 simply because it's more playable in dx8

I'd play it.

Actually a final mission that reverses the roles and has you delivering a bomb to Gray would be awesome.

and easy
directhit + gunboats
kill sentries and snipers
jump all over the place into the hatch

Not if it was a Payload styled-mission.
With the hatch being guarded by three floors of high ground, all filled with sentries.
Just like Upward.

What if the carrier of the bomb could not attack and moved slower?

Or make it payload based.

They could put the bomb carrying animations to good use.

I see those scouts on almost every youtube tf2-related videos. Who are them ?
_________
On-topic, dead ringer spies would be .... Hum, fun ?
How about a map where you're in front of the Gray headquarters and he's sending in a whole bunch of bombs and tanks, and when they get to your base (BLU Sniper's truck?) The Engineer has to somehow reprogram them to turn around and bomb Gray's base.
Maybe just reprogram a tank and have it work like a payload when it's reprogrammed and you have to push it to Gray's building while there's still waves of bomb bots trying to destroy your base? So it's attack and defense at the same time?

It's a gag on the fact that every update includes updated localization files. If I recall correctly, a few times during the big update drought of oh-twelve, there were a few updates that were JUST localization files being updated.

No, they are files for other languages that are updated frequently. It's far from a gag, not many people joke about it anymore.
