I'm up to the challenge, if the patch makes the game better (and certainly will).
Oh whoops, the FAQ states this ISN'T the case :suicide:
Well that made life easier!
That means I'll probably be downloading it all day.

If Valve ever made a very large patch, but one that fixes many bugs and improves loading and performance, it'd be a download worth getting.
I can already smell a war brewing between Valve fans and bronies with that sentence.
So that means that big projects like the TIP are going to have to be restructured?
Gonna be a pain in the ass for anyone who makes fixes/mods in general.
Mann vs Brony? I'm now interested.
seems like a big update this week. This is somewhat what the Hatless update was kind of, it did similar stuff with the schema and what not
Thank god I can join a mod server without playing VSH.
Old school FW,ZF, PH, and TFDB all day erryday

unused pony courier mod was in the dota files for a long time. dont know if its still there but its literally a copyrighted mlp character so i dont know why a valve employee would put that in.
this rustled some people's jimmies.
just another thing that will break everything else
wohoo

"It might be a few days behind. It's not massively out of date.
We'll bring it completely up-to-date sometime this week.
We'll probably be releasing new TF betas each day for a few days as we find and fix bugs. "
TF2 Beta updates this week, it seems.

Too bad it'll probably be the only few days that TF2 Beta will shine, until it goes into the dustbin for years to come.

As a joke by a disgruntled employee probably. And I'm guessing if they were found out, they were one of the ones to get a pinkslip.
I'm sure Valve doesn't appreciate content being slipped into their games as a prank, much less content that could get them sued.

updates for what?
updates for what?
Most likely for fixing bugs caused by SteamPipe.

Valve vs Gabe Newell?
Valve vs Gabe Newell?
This is actually a possible scenario - since according to the manual, Valve is anarchy.
Maybe the layoffs were because they were bronies.
Maybe the layoffs were because they were bronies.
Would that not be hypocrisy though?
Just want to check something.
"(And remember, playtime in the beta counts towards item drops in the release game.) "
Does that mean if I get drops in the beta, I get those drops in normal TF2, or something else?
just another thing that will break everything else

It's fairly impossible now for Valve to release something without something else, no matter how small, breaking in the process.
finally I wont have to wait ten minutes just to join a server
I hope, alongside this new file system, they add some way to toggle user skins on and off. It's kind of a pain in the ass to have to quit TF2 and move/uninstall any skins just to be able to join sv_pure servers.

That's how the new filesystem works, as pictured here:

The idea is that instead of extracting mods/skins to tf/materials, tf/models, etc, you instead extract them to tf/addons/my_mod/materials, tf/addons/my_mod/models.
So if you ever want to delete/disable your skins, you simply move stuff out of tf/addons.
Or if it's a VPK mod, you just add it or delete the .vpk from the addons folder.
So we'll be able to use proper skins and models in pure TF2 now?
That sounds pretty neato.
So we just installed addons to a new folder now instead of merging like we've done for the past 6 years. Neat. Makes things easier.
better mod organization
oh my
