Welp I looked all over Toys R Us and I couldn't find any damn Pyro figurines.
Menpo?
See the legal side of it is
that shogun didn't design the menpo. nor do they own the rights to it. so in this case it was fine to use.
if it was say...a sonic hat. someone made. or jetset-radio glasses
it'd be completely out the question
dear valve
market gardener sword/bottle for demoman
thanks

But surely if someone made a sonic hat, could Sega not just say "Yeah, that's fine" and have it added as a promo or am I missing something?

SEGA said that they did not want anything Sonic related in a rated M game.

Capcom already did something like that with Street Fighter X Megaman cause they had only a month left to celebrate their anniversaries and they were ultra lazy, so they just bought the fan project.
It's not out of the question for another industry hack to do the same.
SEGA also said that they did not want anything Sonic related in a rated M game.
They came awfully close a few times. They're hurting for money, too...
SEGA said that they did not want anything Sonic related in a rated M game.
Which is great news since I don't want anything Sonic related in Team Fortress 2.

Moot point, I was making an example to ask if someone made an item that infringes on copyright, could the company still make a promo out of it?
Welp I looked all over Toys R Us and I couldn't find any damn Pyro figurines.
Wait til the 27th.

I am sure they can, depends on the company and how strict they are on thier copyrights.

I would not mind Sonic shoes for Scout, and a Robotnik mustache for Engineer but that would be it.
well I got my pyro today, kinda disappointed really. the paints globbed on in places and scratched off in others, the head is tiny and neck just has a big gap where they just have a big ball on the end. also I thought I read that the pyro was supposed to come with an extra hand but i guess they didnt do that so now he cant hold the ax at all, plus all his joints are basically unbendable. at least it came with a nice trading card thingy.

I would
Also, wasn't that the team captain's case
SEGA said that they did not want anything Sonic related in a rated M game.
i wish people would stop bringing this up
it's nothing about that.
infact i'm not even sure who starting this "nothing M related with sonic" nonesense
regardless. it's about crediting artists at sega japan and such.

Did you order it from a Chinese knockoff company? Email them or something, that's inexcusable.

Demand the hell out of them so you can buy more Demos and Pyros
I see a lot of paint errors and scratches in pictures like this

So that part might be normal.
I get mine next week, we will see if it is quite as bad, and if it is bad, if it is fixable with a bit of sanding or something. I think they are all pretty much like that though.
You get what you pay for I guess.
yeah, I doubt they're going to do anything about it
Its really not that bad when you see it from a ways away. just gonna have to stop wearing my glasses when i play with him i guess

has anyone been able to bend their pyro's arms/ thighs? it looks like they should move but it feels like its gonna break on me when I try it.

iirc the person who started the M rated thing was a community manager making a post on Sega's official message board in a reply to a thread on the subject
I remember reading about someone boiling their pyro in here to loosen the joints. might try that out.
gosh dang automerge

From what I've heard, "Roadgeek 2005 Series C" matches pretty closely for traffic signs. I don't know if it fits with the reference image, though.

if you look at anything photographed in a lightbox with the camera's iso turned all the way down and macro turned on it'll look like that
you guys are so fucking prissy about these things it's like you think 20 bucks is premium in the action figure collecting hobby
be happy that tf2 is getting figures at all and they're the quality that they are for the price they are, you have no idea what companies will charge for figures of video game characters that are way lower quality than the neca things

I can verify that the quality's pretty poor even for $20. The plastic feels too stiff and the paint is nastily chipped in places like the grenades. My friend has both and he regrets buying them.

I actually wouldn't mind shelling out like $30 or $40 per figure if it meant better quality.
The quality is far from poor for 20 dollars. These are quality sculpts and paint applications for that price range; the only issue I have with them is that they both refuse to stand for long durations of time. I can also confirm that most of Pyro's joints are useless.
They're toys, not statues.

Im pretty sure even the Gamer Head TF2 Statues had complaints despite being so damn expensive.

You're bordering towards the no no word.
Dota 2 ruined my TF2 figurez
