Major Update Speculation Thread v12: Layoffs Edition - Games

My optimism is making me believe that as DOTA 2 reaches completion, the tf2 team will be re-assembled and Valve will hire more employees for it and they'll get there shit together and sort the optimization and coding out. Am I just too hopeful, I hope not.

If more people leave the tf2 team, they'll have to hire more. They know they have to keep updating it to actually get people playing, they have pretty much the economy of a small country in tf2 and don't want to see that go.

Am I just too hopeful, I hope not.[/QUOTE] I would say atleast some of the original crew might move back to TF2 after DOTA 2 doesn't need to sap all the resources to get it done anymore. They know people still love playing TF2, they know that it holds a HUGE economy in terms of being an online FPS, and in turn they profit heavily from such a result. I play both games, and would hate to suddenly see one of them stop getting support all of a sudden because of the other.

I personally wouldn't count on anything regarding the Linux promos (at least the Thursday speculation).
