give us a tiny tiny really small clue about it!
Never! Someone else that I know also may or may not know about the same stuff
I think I know what you know, but I don't really know if that's the thing you know, so I won't bother.
[editline]7th February 2013[/editline]
also the update won't be for Valentines day, it'll be for Ned_Ballad day, which is the 15th (my birthday!)

No you don't
Speaking of Valentines, I was actually working on an idea to pitch to contributors similar to the "Something Special",
but ended up shelving it for later due to some major technical reasons.

Pros
* Simple modelling and texturing, nothing fancy
* It's appealing for couples to go to the same server and "show off" that they are a couple with an interesting, minimal effect
* Better than an annoying pop up with the "Something Special"
Cons
* How the hell do you get the half-lockets to stick together?
* How do you prevent other couples lockets from locking with your locket?
Those cons are MAJOR. In the past three months, I've talked with some TF2 contributors and people who know the source engine well, and the conclusion is that it would be very, very difficult to pull off.
I originally wanted to get this done way before Valentine's. I'm shelving it until I meet someone who comes up with some novel ideas to get over the technical challenges of the locket.
No you don't
what if i posted a really obscured image to garner more attention?

Magnets.
-stuff-
I think that'd work amazingly, whether they attached or not.
I'm gonna give it a shot, if you don't mind.
Magnets.
Hah, alas if only TF2 behaved like real life. Those would be some super strong magnets though!
Hah, alas if only TF2 behaved like real life.
One bullet from the scout pistol would be a ohko most of the time...

Hey, you can take a shot at it if you can make it attach. The attachment gimmick is a must for the appeal I was trying to create for it. Many a people I've talked to have scratched their head on how to achieve that.
It's not hard to model, but if it's just a split "best friends forever" necklace, I think it would be too plain without the "attaching" gimmick I'm trying to create.
I may or may not be willing to tell you about the "thing" for your hats.

Don't you even fucking think about it.

Maybe make the item into a taunt/misc hybrid? Wears like a standard necklace, but make the joining into a hi-five-esque taunt.
I know a thing of a thing that my own thing is getting excited

Well, that'd be more of a programming thing than a model thing.
As someone who knows literally nothing about programming, I'd imagine your best chance would be to figure out what allows, say, players to pick up objects in HL2. Then it'd basically be like two specific lockets pick each other up while they're nearby. It'd be more like a floaty thing.
Maybe have a heart particle appear behind the two floaty lockets? That'd be cute.

I've thought of this before and discussed this with others. They basically told me that if it was like the Haloween set taunts and didn't require the other person with the half locket, it would be simple to do. But to have both be in a specific vicinity with each other and activate the taunt as a non-action slot would be difficult.
With the help of my Eliminating The Impossible set, I found out all the secrets. But it is a secret if I will reveal the secrets.
A little thing of mine is getting excited. [sub][sub]don't laugh[/sub][/sub]
Dammit, almost everybody knows something about this update. :suicide:

Though it would be adorable to have particle effects, I didn't want it to be too flashy as that would deter from the gameplay. Imagine that going on while the couple were playing the game. However, if it was a taunt, then yeah particle effects would be considered.
I'm still researching the best way to go about it whenever I have time. Since I missed the original Valentine's goal, I've got plenty of time to think of an effective method :)

We all know it has a linux promo at least, right?
EDIT: Rainbows? I like rainbows.

I know they do this vicinity thing in Maplestory but I don't know how. :v:
This I know something talk is disappointing, I'm going out for subway and you're not getting any.

Except for you Napy, I'll get you some macadamia nut cookies.
Also, I tried to play chess with the vague rules that Neca supplied. Zerg rushing pawns are fearsome.

What if it doesn't and that comes later
