Certain particles stand out more, some stand out less. Death screams and pain sounds are near identical, making it difficult to detect who is dying and where they are. It's called an [url=http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/InterfaceScrew]interface screw[/url], it can be good or it can be bad, either way it changes how the game is seen. It's a gray area because it doesn't make it a [i]functional[/i] sidegrade. This one primarily comes down to how one views the Pyrovision attribute.
