It'd still be useless without enemy Engineers, but in the scenario where there actually [b]are[/b] enemy Engineers, it's fine as of now; there is no need to buff that mechanic more.
That's like saying the Sun-on-a-Stick should have +50% damage bonus on burning players; it's not going to fix the problem that it is dependent on enemies being set on fire.

Wasn't it fixed recently? (The first nerf didn't apply to sentries, which was fixed IIRC)
EDIT: Well ok, never mind, it removes arrows from teleporters, fails to disable Dispensers, and destroys itself before the deconstruction finishes. And according to the wiki, the original nerf only applied to teleporters, and was not fixed, though the info on wiki can be doubtful at best.
Fuck, i think NECA will get jealous if i buy the Gaming Heads action figures.

You mean the ones that aren't coming out because Valve pulled the plug on them because they had a working prototype for like an entire year and didn't actually start selling it and planned on selling it for like fifty dollars per figure?

At first, I'd assume it was obviously after, but then I considered the fact that it was due to an accident...
So with that said, I'm going to assume the hand was cut off before the Gunslinger was made.

Might be late to the Diamondback discussion, but maybe another buff for the weapon would be, you gain one crit for every Medic backstabbed? Dunno if that might be too good or not though.

Hell no. For one thing, that's another situational mechanic added to the weapon, but another, it makes the Medic's life even more miserable...

The Medics become even [b]more[/b] of a priority with the mechanic; they're at risk at giving Diamondback Spies crit shots.

One of my ideas for a Diamondback buff was 2 crits for each Building Sapped and one crit for each kill.
Well, it'd be less situational, because the team is more likely to have a Medic then an engie.
And it doesn't really make a Medic's life even more miserable because you're already dead if they backstabbed you.
Not to mention it's alot harder (normally) to backstab a medic then get a free crit from a lone teleporter.
Medics should be top priority anyway for a spy.
Dumb idea, but what if the Diamondback got a crit on kill with it, as well as the sapped buildings thing.
The Diamondback
Gives one guaranteed critical hit for each building destroyed with your sapper attached
On Critical kill: Instantly reload
-15% damage penalty
No random critical hits
