Hooray for Yellow Team TFC Represent
Can't figure out how to get TF2 brushstrokes in GIMP, so I made this very quick and ugly mockup for an idea for a robotic Plutonium Dome: The fluid contains a diskette like this one: [t]http://us.123rf.com/400wm/400/400/igorkovalchuk/igorkovalchuk1006/igorkovalchuk100600016/7090081-diskette-isolated-on-white-background.jpg[/t]
Hah I really like that.

That bonnet looks great. Here's another one from me... Edit: updated with some edge highlights
;39681584']That needs some edge highlights...
Now that you mention it... I totally forgot to add them.
eh, I don't think that really screams "robot lollichop" I guess I'd approach it from the angle of "what would robo-Pyro think his axe looks like" think about how Pyroland has candy and fun colors and is like a children's paradise, and then imagine what a robo-child's paradise would look like. Right now the cog is just a common shape shared with the Lollichop, but has no connection to it besides that
Could've been an oil flavour lollipop, or a ball of tar appearing similar to one of those spherical lollipops.
Texture the cog to look more like the Lolichop.
Styles. Gray Co. Standard would be the style name of the current Lolli-cog.
just needs to be painted the same way the lollichop is. though in all honestly, the lollichop doesnt even exist, its just a regular axe that "looks" like a giant candy in the pyro's delusional world. it would had been wonderful if the robo-vision project had been finished.
Since robots usually don't have genders or emotions I think they wouldn't really build childish robots and don't have candy or fun either. Anyway, I'll probably make a second style when I have some more time.
You could just put splashes of pink/blue paint matching the Lollichop on it It seems like it'd fit
We can't release styles as mods, don't forget. Guess we could have two downloads though.
i still suport the idea of robotized weapons though. at least meelee ones should be less stressful to be made, shouldn't they? i'm pretty sure a robo-mackarel or a robo-unarmed combat would be a blast.
Remember guys, you only really have until this Sunday to send in your finished items. After that we're going to talk to artists individually about changes and improvements that may need to be made to their items, to give them the best chance of being accepted. And, as always you're free to work on whatever you like, but weapons have a slim-to-none chance of being accepted by Valve.
Do we actually have confirmation that these WILL get accepted, bar the fact that Valve has acknowledged it?
Do we actually have confirmation that these WILL get accepted, bar the fact that Valve has acknowledged it?
Pretty much Bay said it was neat what we're doing, as the discussion I had with him. I think there was also an email which someone else at valve said it was neat too.
i hardly doubt valve would ever confirm nor deny anything about stuff like this. look at the dinamic payload contest map, they even advertised it on the blog, yet they have to add the winner or any of the maps on that contest.
Pretty much Bay said it was neat what we're doing, as the discussion I had with him. I think there was also an email which someone else at valve said it was neat too.
Bay doesn't work at valve anymore
Bay doesn't work at valve anymore
Yeah, I know that. Just it slipped my mind when writing it, I'm too used to him working there.
Bay doesn't work at valve anymore
Doesn't mean he hasn't still got friends in the right places/isn't a cool person anymore.
Doesn't mean he hasn't still got friends in the right places/isn't a cool person anymore.
Yep, even knowing that he no longer works at valve I still got his autograph. The guy's an inspiration! [editline]23rd February 2013[/editline]
what do I rate for neither?
A post saying what you prefer and CC will count as a neither vote.
Say, since everything ends tommorow. Mind if we could see everything done so far?
