you calling me out kiddo??
I'm sorry! I'm extremely dumb. I've added your steam link to the list. [editline]1st January 2013[/editline]
So, I put THIS in the op. You're going to keep that same page updated, right? because that would be great.
That will be the offical page, yes. Sorry for switching the links around!
Bombinomiconcept: [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/pQbfM.png[/thumb] Seems like books nowadays are being replaced by eReaders and Ipads and other fancy doodads, so I thought this might be appropriate. As always, open to anyone.
This would look cool with the old Macintosh error bomb.
Rageguy finished the Metalmanne's Serivce Medal: [thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/43795887/medalsfinish.png[/thumb] He wants to know if he can replace the Mercenary Badge with it.
Although brilliant looking, seems incredibly out of place, although I think a small CRT TV with a black and white bombinomicon on the screen would look great
Something like this? [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/QDKuX.png[/thumb] (Sorry, got a lil lazy on this one. Quality suffered in the process.)
Didn't NeoDement work on the Bolted Bombardier?
Fixed clipping, simplified wear & tear (name not final, but who cares; if it actually gets in, we all know Valve will change it): And the similar Modest Pile: The differences between the two mirror the differences between the real Billycock & Modest. Eg, the edging on the rim, the modest is slightly shallower, difference in upturn of the rim, etc. I'll do proper promos later once the logo layer on the psd template is fixed. I also need to do LODs on the Modest and compile versions for all the classes.
Man, I really fucking love these ideas. It's just saddening that Valve'll most likely not implement them. Maybe some, but not all.
decided to mix pyrovision with robots so it fits rains infernal orchestrina concept and super easy to do hot signs
noooo dont mix in pyrovison
i don't have time to do the other one and it looked terrible.
Didn't someone already call the modest?
Yeah, it was me. [Edit] I searched after seeing SirVerbose agree with your post just to make sure: I called it two weeks ago when I first put up images of the billycock. SirVerbose told Constructor to do it four days ago, and Gadget even reminded you that I'd called it first. Sorry for the lawyering, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't the one stepping on toes. :)
Calling this one done now. Redid the texture entirely with some tips from our dear Cuntsman. Also, accidentally made it look awesome when painted with dark colors:

But you're defiantly on the right track. There's always a lot of trial and error when doing paint this way.
Done, more or less.
how does it look on the, oh wait we need Neo to be finished with that first.
stop your whining or offer to help
Also, accidentally made it look awesome when painted with dark colors:
This is actually a really good idea. This way no detail is lost when you paint it with black instead of After Eight as what happens with most other hats. I do feel as though the brushstrokes don't really fit in with the typical TF2 brush style, but some refining of the textures should be able to sort that out.
stop your whining or offer to help
I don't know how to model.
I colored the Steam Captain for concept purposes, up for grabs if anyone wants it: [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/102054761/Steam%20Captain%20Colored.png[/t]
These Robotic hats on the classes must be really fucking heavy.
These Robotic hats on the classes must be really fucking heavy.
Maybe they are made out of polystyrene and just painted to look robotic :v:
Maybe they are made out of polystyrene and just painted to look robotic :v:
Your right, were talking about the mercs here.
So I re-did my Hacker's Lament idea as a Neon Lighting rig. What do you guys think before I start unwrapping?
ok i did some of the base colors of the hat. [t]http://puu.sh/1IlL4[/t] its obviously not finished. i need to do the brush strokes, rust, paint chips and metal seams. any suggestions on the base colors? something too dark or too bright? needs a new color? i think it reminds me of ronald mcdonald.

Don't forget the yellow edges around the flaps like the real toque.
The ball should be yellow as well. Don't forget the yellow edges around the flaps like the real toque.
yeah i wasnt sure whether to change up the colors or not, since its robotic. and i'll get on the edges too.
Mesh for the Hacker's Lament is done. The Halo also glows. Who want's to texture this bitch?
I'm making a robot Scout mom (even though someone made one a few weeks ago...) I'd like some input on what I have so far: [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/9pJJY.jpg[/thumb] I'm trying to make some parts look like robo-Scout since they're family. (shape of head, arms) I'll try rigging it to the robo-Medic once it's done, so I'm using his proportions as a reference. (Not sure if it's relevant to the thread, I'll post in the emporium otherwise)

Just got the map and flame effect to go! Off to go and see the inlaws for a few days. Totally going to spend my whole time thinking about this...
