Its not that I don't trust them. Last time I ended up forgetting my steam password VALVe was rather quick to get it back to me. Granted I have a feeling its mostly because I have my HL2 CD and key around though.

If they didn't intend for this to happen they should have just given Windows a chance to drop it or something.
