What should I paint my Fast Learner and backwards cap?
I have two black paints but I don't want to waste them in case it looks like shit.
Also two purples but eeeehh.
Or I could just paint the hat white and leave the fast learner?

this actually sounds like a really good idea.
Is there any way to preview what it will look like? The wiki has caps of just the items painted but I want to see what my scout will look like with 2 different painted items, without using up my paint. Any help?

Create Server>itemtest. Then you type "itemtest" in the console and you get a menue where you can select different items and paints. However it's very bugged and some items may not show up at all. And it's only possible to try out 2 item combos because Valve are lazy bastards.

Is it possible at all to set Styles with itemtest? Can't see exactly what I want, particularly the secondary style of the Fast Learner which displays the colour as I want it.

Never EVER paint the Fast Learner Black.
If you're gonna paint it, I'd go with something like Balcavas or Overalls, it creates a nice contrast.
