hm, robot chicken just did a team fortress thing. dont have a recording of it, but it wasn't that funny so nobodys really missing out. still was kinda neat to see the classes as action figures, and they did an alright medic.
I guess thats what the that robot chicken hat was for back during pyromania.

If that's what it was, I can say that I was only half-expecting it.
God damn I wanna see it. It's probably not funny but I wanna see it just for the sake of it.
It really wasnt. Plus most of the figures were pretty far off. the pyro was just a guy with gas mask like the medic's and all the weapons were wrong. maybe they were basing it more off of tfc but I dunno.

I see it as this.
Either they have never played the game before and did the Pyro Hat thing just to grab some attention.
Or they love the game, but their viewer base is more into modern Triple A games and have never heard of TF2 before, so gotta make the nerd in actual war joke.
Because a regular TF2 Joke would go over their heads.

I don't really think it was meant to be an exact parody of TF2...
I liked it when I watched it last night actually, even though that character is overdone 3 times over.
Would have been better with any of the more popular realistic shooters. From that video, it looks like they have never played TF2 or watched any gameplay or videos of it, and has just watched some screenshots and assumed it was like any other generic modern shooter.

The class-select screen has the same descriptions for the classes as they are in-game, so that's evidence that they have played the game even remotely for a brief amount of time.
The map they are playing on hardly resembles any TF2 map. It actually more resembles a TFC locale. The Medic appears to be shooting a Super Nailgun at the Nerd's face, another weapon from TFC. Medic was also firing his "Medigun" at the enemies, complete with bullets coming out of it; when he is called for help, he fiddles with it and aims it as his teammate -- this is much like Quake Team Fortress where the Medic player must manually switch between ze healing and ze hurting on his Medkit weapon.
It's got a few loose references to the franchise outside of resemblance to the TF2 HUD and characters, but none of the jokes really hit home as "TF2 joke."

This was mainly me getting this idea out of my head. It was really hindering my progress on other things.
I made the pose within a little under an hour, which is why it sucks so much.
Now I can get to work on my Christmas Poster, with plenty of time
