I guess I'm about a day late to discuss this clip, but it still kind of rubs me the wrong way.

The entire clip just boils down to stereotype, which can be funny at times, but this was just way too forced, constantly referencing reproductive organs as joke lines, exacerbating feminine incompetence, and basically makes the entire clip a joke about how women wouldn't make good mercenaries because they have periods and are babies when it comes to gossip.

I know it's just a joke and it's not meant to be taken seriously, but it just seems lazy to use overused stereotypes as the foundation to a skit, and I feel like it gives off a bad vibe concerning women.

At the same time, however, the animation was very fluid, the lip-sync spot on, the camera angles were interesting and the voice actor(s) were of high quality. The Pyro was given a lot of character and I loved how they referenced the gender ambiguity as uncertain. There's a lot of talent showing through this clip, and I just hope next time if the director intends to do a similar scenario that he/she comes up with some interesting comedy that highlights gender differences that's not played out.

The joke boils down to taboo and fucked up facial expressions. There's no substance. This one is obviously not done with actual intent to win something but I see this scenario in so many Demoman Garry's Mod clips that I'd have figured by now people would have grown tired of it.

But yeah, I'm not offended or anything, I'm just tired of the same lame jokes.

You know, people have gotten so good at voice mixing, and I've gotten so used to it, that it's always kinda jarring to hear both new official voice lines, and unofficial voice acting. It's just like, "wait no this isn't what this character sounds like."

Seriously, there are less complaints when Rubberfruit gets posted, and he's hated by like this entire thread. And he makes [i]movies[/i]. This is a single, three panel comic. I didn't personally find it funny either, but throwing a giant hissy fit over it isn't going to do anything.
