Maybe if Valve had planned TF2 to get cosmetics right from the start, the game would be optimized to a point where you could wear many cosmetic items without slowdown. Look at Dota 2, each character can wear a bunch of items because there are no body groups, there are instead only models that are loaded as default and replaced by cosmetics. It works excellently. TF2 on the other hand is unoptimized enough with 3 cosmetics on each character.
Mind you I have a computer that could probably handle 7 cosmetic items on each player but it wouldn't be very fun only being able to play with the other 2 people who also had Hadron Collider PCs.
It's why I want TF3. Rebuild TF2 to plan for these kinds of additions instead of tacking them on like extensions on a house.
I'm surprised I haven't seen this posted here yet. Perhaps I just overlooked it and am begging for clocks. But just in case it actually hasn't been.
