Remember, quantity, not quality.
Of course, I'll just recycle a bunch of models and add some photoshop work so they aren't noticable. Hope that will be enough for Valve to give me all the glory I truly deserve, maybe I will even become a section moderator.
First you're worshipping them for making hats and now you're jealous, saying the hatmaking doesn't require much work? O_o But it's true the weapon is quite powerful. Should be something cosmetic, like making one the hatmaker's hats official and usable only for them..
I guess these kinds of threads really show how people are really like. The screenshot made by Kirex is a fake, you fucking idiots.
I guess these kinds of threads really show how people are really like. The screenshot made by Kirex is a fake, you fucking idiots.
Don't listen to him, He's only joking, ha ha ha, see? I find it funny.
The screenshot made by Kirex is a fake
Wait, it wasn't obvious? And let them be jealous, that's why you're getting your own, cool stuff; To make people jealous.
I guess these kinds of threads really show how people are really like. The screenshot made by Kirex is a fake, you fucking idiots.
I think everyone knew that.
Would be good for that box guy we have around here.
Hello! :downs:
I think everyone knew that.
Fighting Amphibians, 4chan and Steampowered don't.
Fighting Amphibians, 4chan and Steampowered don't.
Wasn't that the listing of forums with dumb userbases? :ghost:
I don't like this, mainly because it rewards those who clamour for attention rather than those with talent. For example, RedBeret was probably the first to make hats, and he's made a lot of great stuff over at Interlopers as well, but I doubt he's ever going to get a magical community weapon. I don't mind people getting hats that they've made if they get put into the game, but this kinda leaves a sour taste in my mouth. It makes it seem like more of a popularity contest than rewarding actual
It is not a popularity contest. We approached VALVe with it. I'm sure if a random person who also made good hats would get the same treatment, regardless of popularity.
I guess these kinds of threads really show how people are really like. The screenshot made by Kirex is a fake, you fucking idiots.
I want to believe it was real :saddowns: (because a knife that muted footsteps would be pretty cool)
It is not a popularity contest. Daimao approached VALVe with it. I'm sure if a random person who also made good hats would get the same treatment, regardless of popularity.
Fixed it for you.
Fixed it for you.
I sent one, oblivious of you having sent one too.
Interesting, maybe I'll knock an email over as to what defines a valuable contributor.
Go ahead. It will be something along the lines of an individual or group who contributes Team Fortress 2 content in a significant way.
Guns with top hats on them.
Tower of hats that does Spade damage and yells when you kill someone.
You know what this thread needs? Less hating and more loving. HEARTS FOR ALL!
Get Mowsy some? It could give very slow Health regeneration. Slower than medic. Crit Protection... Maybe makes you gib into gears all the time, or actual blood and stuff in the case of a birthday server. It could have a 25% chance of reflecting any projectile... I'm just throwing out shit here. 10% chance of BONK effect for 5 seconds when health drops below 5 (The energy drink effect, for those of you who call the Sandman the Bonk or whatever) 100% chance of giving Mowsy one... Sentry that shoots sandwiches at teammates who are injured! Also, this:
You know what this thread needs? Less hating and more loving. HEARTS FOR ALL!

Maybe makes you gib into gears all the time, or actual blood and stuff in the case of a birthday server.
That's awesome. A hat that does this.
You can't seriously be jealous of Daimao and Royzo, can you? If you'd put this much effort into doing something then you'd be getting these community weapons.
You can't seriously be jealous of Daimao and Royzo, can you? There's seriously people out there who think we get everything from free websites.
Oh god, though as a community weapon, i think it would have to be limited to 1 weapon upgrade of your choice, plus cosmetics if you wish.
A rocket launcher should have a top hat on it.
The reward should really be something cosmetic. If the amount of community contributors increases in the future while the original contributors got unbalanced weapons, then all of them will ask for and receive unbalanced weapons...and remember, they're part of the COMMUNITY. They play the game too, so do you really want to go up against them? Just because they made some nice hats that I like doesn't mean I'd also like it if they get increased chances of beating me in-game.
I don't like this, mainly because it rewards those who clamour for attention rather than those with talent. I doubt many other skin makers have contacted Valve, and if they want their work recognized/included then they should do the same. Valve doesn't have time to browse every TF2 fan forum to check out their work...and personally, I'd prefer it if the community extras included into the actual game are kept to a minimum, because I have a feeling it'll begin saturating the game and throw off the style a bit. Egypt already left a bad taste in my mouth since its setting really doesn't fit (and isn't that great texture-wise).
Oh god, though as a community weapon, i think it would have to be limited to 1 weapon upgrade of your choice, plus cosmetics if you wish.
I'd actually rather have a cosmetically custom weapon instead too, but that would require additional content to be put into the game for every contributor. I'm not sure VALVe is up to that.
Is there not a way they could implement it like TrackMania? Like, it's not compulsary to have the files, but if your in a game with say, you or daimao, then it downloads before joining like it would with a custom map or something.
People are so angry these days.
