• Minor Update Speculation v18: New world order

Alright, people are always complaining abut how the Steam files need to validate whenever they start up TF2, and now all of a sudden I've got that problem too. So can anyone explain to me how to stop that from happening?
Going to send this to the TF Team on Monday.
Why hello there, TF Team! I have a great fascination for customizing Mann vs. Machine missions. The possibilities are mostly endless! However, it'd be nice if you and the TF2 team could expand the options even further! Note: I apologize if there are any weird spacings in the posted code format examples, but I can't be arsed to try to make it look as good as possible for browsers. Suggestion #1: Allow RandomChoice on Wave Templates. This might not be much, but it'd be a nice feature to have for more randomness into the missions. Here's an example: http://pastie.org/pastes/7334739/text Notice how one WaveSpawn template is just the standard Giant Demoman, while the other is a buffed up Giant Demoman with a WarningSound to indicate that it spawned instead of the other Giant Demoman? That's something that could be used with the missions! Suggestion #2: Another minor suggestion would be to update the example.pop. It's missing quite a bit of useful information, like WaitForAllDead, how you can use direct directories for WarningSounds (like in the example above), there being a UseBossHealthBar attribute, etc. Suggestion #3: It'd be nice if it's possible to modify the bombs themselves. It would be placed right at the beginning with the StartingCurrency, RespawnWaveTime, etc. Here's an example: http://pastie.org/pastes/7334835/text Clean example: http://pastie.org/pastes/7334852/text As long if defaults were to be made on the Bomb, the only Missions that would need to be modified are Wave 666 and Ironman. Suggestion #4: The Tanks should at least have some more customizing options to them. Things like giving them a custom ClassIcon, making them be able to function properly with the Support option (making it usable with non-Support tanks, and making the Support tanks self-destruct upon Wave completion), being able to change their sizes, maybe even allowing them to have custom skins! Suggestion #5: Robots could have some kind of reactions to Conds (you know, conditions, and something that you can add/remove on yourself with addcond or removecond). Here's an example: http://pastie.org/pastes/7334976/text Clean example: http://pastie.org/pastes/7334979/text It'd be nice if you could have a mob of Flying Guillotine Scouts all aiming directly towards stunned enemies, or having the robots running away just by the sight of incoming crits. Suggestion #6: Allow for custom upgrades. Here's an example: http://pastie.org/pastes/7335799/text Clean example: http://pastie.org/pastes/7335807/text Like the custom bombs, it would be placed right at the beginning with the StartingCurrency, RespawnWaveTime, etc. I know that there's already a file called mvm_upgrades.txt, but to be honest, it's too confusing, and it's a lot less customizable than what I've suggested. Since that it's most likely that you could have more than 8 attributes in a section, would you consider making a scroll bar for the Upgrade Station as well? Suggestion #7: Fix the RandomPlacement populator. For one, you can't spawn robots with it whatsoever. Another, it is extremely broken when trying to spawn Sentries. When setting them to Level 1 or 2, they still remain as Level 3 Sentries, and "Level 2" Sentries actually have more health than a Level 3 Sentry. Half the time, Sentries will appear decapitated (and will not fire rockets). http://puu.sh/2v2ds Sentries can appear in your spawn... http://puu.sh/2v2if ...or in the robots' spawn. http://puu.sh/2v2js Suggestion #8: Fix the BehaviorModifiers. Idlers (Idler) does not work at all. They do not just idle around the bomb carrier, they start attacking as soon as they see you (or within MaxVisionRange if they have one). Mobbers (Mobber) just run directly to the spawn before they start hunting down players, which doesn't seem like was supposed to be intended like that... Pushers (Push) behave EXACTLY like Mobbers, in which that case, why should it be there? Suggestion #9: The Attributes part could use some more effects! AlwaysMiniCrit: As the name implies, the robot will always deal MiniCrit damage. AlwaysJump: As the name implies, the robot will always jump. (We almost never see robots jump, normally!) DefensiveBuffHigh: This is already in the game. HOWEVER, if you try to use it on a robot, it crashes the game upon loading the mission, so this should be fixed, or at least be replaced with the Battalion's Backup effect. NoBuildingRepair: Engineer exclusive. As soon as the Engineer finishes building, he will act like a standard robot for the rest of his life, not repairing or even rebuilding his buildings. DispenserBuild: Engineer exclusive. Makes the Engineer build a Dispenser near his Sentry Nest, after he finishes building his Sentry and Teleporters. If he has the NoBuildingRepair attribute, he will also have to build the Dispenser before becoming a standard robot. NoUberTeleport: Engineer exclusive. Prevents the Teleporter from ubering robots. Suggestion #10: The robots with the MiniBoss attribute shouldn't have the "damage force reduction" attribute. The reason for this is that the MiniBoss attribute actually prevents the robot from taking any damage force, so it's pointless to add in "damage force reduction". Suggestion #11: Engineers shouldn't have to stick with just building things. He should be able to act as a standard robot if not using Objective Engineer, which should have him function as a Scout (considering the somewhat similar Primaries, and that they both have pistols). In a Nutshell: #1: RandomChoice on Wave Templates #2: Update example.pop #3: Custom Bombs #4: More Customizing Options for Tanks #5: Robots Reacting to Conditions #6: Custom Upgrades in Upgrade Station #7: Fix RandomPlacement Populator #8: Fix BehaviorModifiers #9: More Attributes #10: Remove "damage force reduction" from Giants #11: Make Engineers Not Needing an Objective So that's pretty much it! Of course, you can take your time with whatever suggestions you want to take, some of them might be insane to do. But if you could do all of them, that will benefit greatly with making new missions. They could even probably benefit you guys with making new missions! Hopefully you'll get this email, and if you do, cheers: ~ AbeX300
Hopefully they'll get the message... And if they do get it much earlier than expected, I have a feeling that it'd be released alongside the SteamPipe.
Going to send this to the TF Team on Monday. Hopefully they'll get the message...
"Why hello there, fellow members of the TF Team!" that implies you are a member of the TF team :v:
And then the Griefblower becomes a Degreaser reskin, and the Head Trimmer becomes an Axtinguisher reskin. Which is sad, because that could totally happen.
I bet head trimmer is Powerjack reskin, "stealing souls" gets you health, pretty grim reference.
What about Back to the Future?
Man, I really do love Back to the Future. The trilogy are some of my favorite ever, and Telltale delivered, yet it felt notably less, uh, free? I guess that's the word? It was good, but eventually I just found myself wishing I was watching it as a movie instead of playing it as a game. I'm not sure if this makes sense, but it's like when they're dealing with a bigger license or legacy, it becomes less "A Strongbad/Telltale Game!" and more "A Strongbad Game! (by Telltale)" e: I didn't actually answer the question! Point is, the humor in BTTF wasn't bad, but it's definitely not Telltale Goofy Humor. They don't (and probably can't) stray enough from expectations to be in the sort of situations where you meet folks like T.H.E.M or Galeb.

Sadly you can't change it's size. Yet.

I miss the superfast tanks
I miss the superfast tanks
Isn't that still possible?
I miss the superfast tanks
that crash into something the whole time? God, I loved that mission that had that. Even though the rest was crap.

Aha! I got a strange jag today! I'm rubbing it, nothings happening. Where's that genie they were talking about?

Is no body else amazed that they got Ash Freakin' Williams? The Evil Deads are some of my favorite movies ever. I dont think people care about most of the Poker Night 2 items except Sams Hat and Handsome Jacks face anyway. Although theyre still all better than a shitty watch reskin.
People are mainly disappointed that Bruce Campbell isn't voicing him. It's a good voice, but not as good as Bruce Campbell.

I watched Evil Dead over the weekend, surprised I haven't before. It's pretty awesome. Chances are once I get the Bloodhound I'll never unequip it. :v: (User was banned for this post ("Off-topic / get a blog" - MaxOfS2D))

I watched the entirety of Venture Bros season 1 on Netflix over the last week for Poker Night 2. I'd also like to check out the Evil Dead trilogy sometime. (User was banned for this post ("Off-topic / get a blog" - MaxOfS2D))
