I know, completely pointless to have the gunboats on with the Rocket Jumper. I just like how they look. :v:
Play x amount and get a TF2 item are the hardest promos. The Triclops looks great but honestly, I can't find the time to learn MNC2 to earn it.
I took the time to learn how to play the game, took me a helluva long time to get to Level 20 for the Triclops. I'm alright at the game, not the best. Never really had a bad experience with the community there despite what I've ehard, mostly everyone I've played with and against was pretty friendly.
I normally have my regular loadout in A, alternate playstyle in B, troll loadout in C and MVM in D, they're really useful. I got as far as the sniper hat and the two skins in SMNC but by then the player base had declined so much that the only ones left were the tryhards and poor souls trying the game for the first time only to be demolished, never to return. They were always on my team, too. What if we organized a match or two between facepunchers to actually level up?
SMNC was where I put in ridiculous amounts of time last year, I was in love with that game, but there is a direct moment where I can say the game died, it was the introduction of a 'hardcore mode' called Turbocross. The moment they introduced that, the game just fell apart. Luckily I was already high enough to get the promos.

Black rose was the easiest promo to get while everyone else is trying to learn how to aim you just use the knife. one hit kill. even if you suck and you land a hit on them. you get the kill just don't join a server with level 53 shit-lords who've payed for extra grenades and the shotguns that can shoot through walls

It's not well-balanced (enforcers are still pretty OP there), but it's much easier to get a game going and people ragequitting on you isn't quite as game-sealing as it is in Supercross - a problem I kept running into when I played the game, poor sportsmanship across the board made Supercross more or less unplayable and a matter of victory being more dependent on whether your team had less ragequitters. Something I guess isn't as huge a deal now with the small playerbase, but man, nasty attitudes. Which makes me appreciate all I hear about Dota 2's own countermeasures more. Really, despite all we complain about with Valve's handling of TF2, they're at least showing they're willing to build on lessons learned - and hey, if rumors are true they might be gearing up to fix some of TF2's lingering mistakes... maybe.
I don't like these timed events. SMNC hats were easy to get when they just release. I've tried to get them last week and I was horrified. They reduced amount of servers and ruined the game searching system. About a hundred of people whining in global chat because they can't get in game for half an hour. Same with great inflight achievement. I can't find people with balloonicorn to kill.

I wonder if we'll get a new MvM map in the summer
I wonder if we'll get a new MvM map in the summer
community made MvM map(s). Also I'd like a new regular map more tbh
community made MvM map(s). Also I'd like a new regular map more tbh
Speaking of community maps, didn't Valve say at one point that they'll implement maps into the workshop once they switch over to VPK/SteamPipe? EDIT: Sort of?
Hey, in what Update Speculation thread did Testinglol release that download that supposedly had a hl3 file?
Hey, in what Update Speculation thread did Testinglol release that download that supposedly had a hl3 file?
probably all of them at this point
i cut three of my fingertips at work today its a sign tf3 confirmed
Was it all at the same time or did you cut a fingertip on three separate occassions?

pyro update 3 confirmed
Was it all at the same time or did you cut a fingertip on three separate occassions?
i dunno i was wearing gloves and chopping brussel sprouts where did i go so wrong
community made MvM map(s). I haven't played any of these maps so I don't know if they are any good, but if any of them are I wouldn't be surprised if Valve made one or two of them official, since I'm sure the sales of Tour of Duty tickets would very quickly cover the cost of buying the map and making it official. I would also much rather see more regular maps then MvM maps though.

The last workshop items we got were in the Mecha Update, weren't they? So that would be at least 3 months.
On the subject of the Workshop, it's starting to annoy me how people think that being on the front page for X amount of time is a guarantee of getting in the game. Like an arbitrary meter has to be filled. Folks who complain that their favorite thing that's "been on page one for a month" not making it in need to realize Valve just adds what they like. It's not a popularity contest like the Saxxys.

It's not a popularity contest like the Saxxys.
It really should be, though. The Workshop is essentially where the community goes to say "yes, I would probably pay money for this if it was put in-game." Logically, Valve should add it if they want to make the most profit possible. Instead they add whatever they feel like and then wonder why the tin cans and pyro clown shoes items from page 27 dropped in value over the course of a week. And when they DO add things that spent months as the number one workshop item, they end up like the Plutonidome.
It'd be wrong to allow things to work like a big "vote for me" deal though, due to the fact that you'd have famous Youtubers getting garbage voted for by hundreds of thousands because "omg HE made it!" Picture Valve as being an equal opportunity acceptor. Sure you get some weird stuff, but from the lesser viewed page 10 and on, sometimes they find gold nobody knew about. So you've got a choice here. Get a wider variety of items from all sorts of different people who have varying levels of experience and exposure, or... Let it be dominated by the same three or four people.
Instead they add whatever they feel like and then wonder why the tin cans and pyro clown shoes items from page 27 dropped in value over the course of a week.
Many of the top-rated items are like that too, though.

Well, Greenlight works as a popularity contest and somehow many people (even Gabe at his University of Texas talks) believe that is a bad system, and now we want Workshop items to work like a popularity contest? I don't get it.
Clown Car anyone?
Does anyone have photos of this? Even though it was last updated in 2011, Lots of people keep commenting on it.
I get that it's not a popularity contest (Then why have the rating in the first place?), but there are some items that have been on "Most popular" for almost the entire time. It gets ridiculous that there is no reason why those items don't get added and something random gets added, like the, ugh, Conquistador helm. Especially when a better version of it was higher rated.
Clown Car anyone?
I wonder why it was marked incompatible, it was during the wave that also wiped out the unique rockets right?
