What are carded keys?
People who steal credit cards buy keys in TF2 and then sell them for paypal to shady traders like long218. "Carded" refers to the fact that they're gained from illegitimate credit cards.
1 billion kills with a SMG
1 billion kills with a SMG

Wow, that must've taken like, an hour in an idle server.
Wow, that must've taken like, an hour in an idle server.
More like a year..
More like a year..
1. Create headless server with 500x host timescale
2. Multiply all damage done by 1000, and make sure the entire map is set as a resupply zone (infinite ammo) and instant respawn
3. Create about 30 alts, log them all in on one team, and line them up
4. Log in with text mode, switch to desired weapon, begin shooting enemy team
Every bullet becomes an instant kill. SMG fires roughly 8 rounds a second, so that's 8 kills per second. Multiply that by the 500x timescale, and that's 4000 kills a second. That's 345,600,000 a day.
You could have double this guy's bragging rights in a little under a week, and in a year you'd have almost the recorded population of Earth's entire documented history (126,144,000,000).

I got a trade ban and messaged Sneeza with a resignation. It's unlikely I wouldn't have been fired if I didn't step down, but it was easier and more amicable this way.

Why are you trade banned?

Why do people keep paying more and more for keys? It's ridiculous.
Why are you trade banned?
A significant amount of lopsided trades, perhaps. Valve sometimes does this as a cautionary measure when they're looking into where stolen items have gone.
A friend of mine was tradebanned "until further notice" a while back because he took huge amounts of items for raffles, and had supposedly come into possession of several stolen ones. The ban only lasted about a week though, despite the way it was worded, and apparently the whole time his trade records had been under investigation. Valve apparently totally purged it from his ban history once they were done.

It can be surprise for you, but huge part (if not half) of all keys are carded. And ppl carding 24/7, coz Valve just suspend first account in trading chain doing nothing with all keys bought and traded away. Mostly.
On other side, some cardholders dont even know about 100-200 usd disappeared from bank account, now this keys not shady?

Why does he keep citing TF2Finance?
All i see, if tf2finance close to new suggested price, then its proof. If not - FUCK TF2FINANCE ITS SHOWING NOTHING.

I though if you offer unwanted items you need to overpay instead lowballing.
Why are you trade banned?
I had been buying keys from this guy for like 3 months. We talked a decent amount, and he was a great guy. He had SOP rep, blue level outpost donor, a bunch of my high volume friends bought from him too.
Normally, before every key trade, I check the original IDs of them to make sure they aren't carded. I stopped doing this with him, due to our long standing relationship. I trusted him enough to send the money before he had the first batch of 256 keys in the trade window, why shouldn't I trust him with that?
I grew complacent, and reasonably negligent. Some time recently he started buying keys from a carder. I don't believe he knew, but the damage is done. I'm trade banned now because of it.

Why does he keep citing TF2Finance? How is he still able to get away with that? He has one of the biggest stakes in that site of anyone with a public profile. It'd be like Sam citing TF2Shop.
I never used bp.tf other than checking my BP.
How does that stuff work? It looks like he deleted his comments or someone else did? I can't see anything he wrote.
Did he delete them himself out of butt hurt?

You need login to read flagged comments. No idea why.

how do you know if an item is carded from the id's? Is it just looking at the history and if they have a fuckton with no history you might be a bit suspicious?
Also I thought Valve stopped punishing users who happened to end up with carded items, or is your case an exception because you bought in mass quantity via paypal so there was no items going to him in the trade, making it look like you were part of the laundering process?
Uhh.. Okay then

IM ACTUALLY A CRATE: No, I said 22 keys on the trade and that's what i'm buying it for
IM ACTUALLY A CRATE: If you are unable to read that is your fault

I hate this kind of person. I state quite clearly i'm buying for 22 keys and they add me to haggle.

What's the issue with people adding you if they're paying your price?
are you shitting me
:suicide:
Why would you set a B/O and tell them not to add you? If the person is paying your B/O, they are supposed to add you.
are you shitting me
:suicide:
You just missed a great offer, traders rarely buy crafthats at 1.33 or pay the B/O now
You can still add him back, say "Sorry for being rude, I'll accept your nice offer for my beatiful hat!" though.
This just in, being able to speak a different language is grounds for a ban on outpost.

So, yesterday a guy added me, probably to trade. He then removes me right away.
Now i get a random invite by the same guy.
Guess what happened.

Pro tip: Block all the retards to prevent this. If you don't, they will add you again in few days/week and waste your time again. I know it of experience, these kind of people are stubborn

If the original ID's are close together or sequential, it's pretty much a dead giveaway. I won't touch keys without a couple of previous owners, though.
All of my trades are for cash, as I was only in this market for the money. It looks shady to Valve, and two previous restrictions for hijacked goods made this one the final straw.
My first restriction somebody added me and sold me some strange festives. Turned out the guy didn't own the account. I provided a ton of paypal evidence to Support, but they don't give two shits.
Second time, I have no idea at all what the goods were, as their policy is to kick you in the ribs and not tell you why.
Derrick, the head of support, is extremely curt and will give me at best a sentence answer to the mountain of evidence and pleas I leave him with in the fortnight between his responses. I adored Valve, but their support system is atrocious, and customer relations in it rival EA's.

There is nothing more horrifying than seeing "Support Tech Derrick" appear in your support ticket.
