I am trying to sell my unusual for months. It's really hard since I am banned off outpost (where I got banned for stupid reasons in the first place). I can bump my sourceop thread how much I want and don't get any offers. Bazaar is dead. Tf2tp is dead. Unusual servers are circlejerks where no trading gets done. I offered my hat on countless trades on outpost with my alt but everybody there is a profit whore. Even though I know it's frowned upon I keep an eye on other trades that are selling the same hat as I do in hopes of stealing a good offer. And today one guy got offered my buyout in pure buds. Something that rarely happens. So I add that guy and leave him a comment on his profile I noticed that my hat belonged to him once so I thought that he would buy it off me for sure. I was on my pc the whole day waiting for him to come online. A few minutes ago I checked his profile and saw that he had that other guy in his friendlist. I checked his backpack and yep... he bought the unusual off him.
Welp I am mad and disappointed as hell. I understand that stealing offers is not nice but I have no other choice. I expected him at least to reply to my post on his profile or add me. Nope. Instead he bought it off a guy that got the hat for cheap off an unexperienced unboxer in the first place and that will now use the buds to get quicksells. Months may pass until I get someone willing to offer the same again.
Fuck trading. Fuck the horrible rude unmannered traders. Fuck everything.

He offered a buyout on someone's trade, not yours, what makes you feel entitled to selling your or getting a response when the purchase was a sure thing?

I understand that but I don't really have much empathy for quicksell buyers like him. He just made a thread on outpost and let it autobump while I am trying to sell the hat for months. It's an open market so why should I not be able to steal an offer? Just because that guy was lucky to have gotten the offer first? Just because that guy didn't see my thread on sourceop? I got offers stolen from myself too and while it felt bad I wasn't mad at anybody. If someone can offer the same hat quicker than me (because I am not online) or cheaper then he deserves to sell it. The buyer could at least have responded. He would even have gotten it cheaper this way since I would want to undercut the other guy.

I've done it and I don't feel the least bit guilty.
People make it out to be a douche move ... but in reality ... it's trading ... which (well if you wanna call it this) is business.

Basically mean the same thing, but all true. If a seller was too slow to make a sale and you grabbed the opportunity, that's it ... he loses, tough luck.
In real life, business take to this strategy all the time. Hell, advertising is a method of luring customers in their store and no one else's.
This isn't to validate knobheads spamming their trades in others in TF2OP, cause that would be like Burger King employees advertising in a McDonalds or something.

Of course they are not hiveminds but I find it ironic how most of them get their items through sharking and then complain when they can't sell them for the spreadsheet price. I guess they don't fully realize that the spreadsheet is just a guide and not an official pricelist.

I quite like both sites.
tf2op clearly has the most users, but wading through the "quicksale only or i report u to da police" trades can be depressing at times.
on bazaar it's in my experience a lot easier to sell stuff for the "suggested value" aka the backpack.tf price, which is often considered "high end" on tf2op :v:
I prefer bazaar since I can edit what items is in my trades. I hate having to close and re-open them when I sell some of the items.
