Well, people are willing to add for the value of having a complete set. And maybe they want one big item instead of a bunch of little items which they then have to combine into a more valuable item.
Who cares if it takes longer?
me for example
If it's a real set like a year's festives, it's your fault for not finding the trades that are selling them separately
The entire point of why I hate selling things as a set is, if it gets bought, what's the fucking point? You still get your shit don't you? Who cares if it takes longer?
Are you really that stupid? Wow.
Are you really that stupid? Wow.
Nice defense mechanism.
Nice defense mechanism.
Nice argument. Seriously, what part of the word "set" is hard to understand? If you don't want a set, DON'T BUY A SET. Literally no-one is forcing you to do so, yet you whine about how mean people are selling their things as sets when there are literally hundreds of people selling the same stuff separately.
In all fairness, he was talking about when he said "Good luck" and you called it shitposting. Saying "Good luck" isn't shitposting, it's only wishing you good luck. And he reported you for having items in the trade that were not for sale, which is against the rules.
they are for sale

You missed the point so hard it's almost painful.
I'm not saying I hate when people only sell it as a set, what I hate is when they go out of their fucking way to to say "ONLY AS A SET OTHERWISE SUCK MY DICK"
Why are you getting so fucking up in arms about this?
they are for sale

I don't consider you as someone who deserve to be put in the outpost shitlist, but I'll try to explain why I think half your trades are stupid.
When I see your trades, I see 4 things (as I have not a single clue about the dota2 economie I"ll ignore those)
- Items that everyone can identify as special: the lvled vintages & the craft numbers under 100. These are fine
- Things commonly considered as expensive like the self made key and the heart unusuals. Fine too.
- Your fly unusuals.
- Your 404 collection (and those 420).
Those last two points are what I consider stupid trades. Why ? Because they are items that you consider special. Not the general TF2 trader, only you.
You like flies hats and that's fine, I also prefer small effects over huge lime flames. But the market people have built says that bigger is better, and that flies is a bad effect. You can disagree all you want and say it looks good, it is like that: flies are worth less . Now sure these hats are for sale, but even if someones offered you a hat of the same value (different effect) you would not take it because "you prefer flies". That mean you will only sell if the buyer overpay enought to make you forget that you prefer flies. The only people willing to overpay for a flies hat would be people who like them as much as you do, and to them you would be "that dick who made me overpay for a flies hat".
It's even worse with the 404 collection. You are the one guy in TF2 who think 404 items are interesting enought to be collected. Sure it's a common error, but there is litterally noone who will value these as much as you do. The simple proof of that is that you started collecting them, and noone else did. Now you can collect whatever you want, suit yourself, but why would you put up for trade a collection that only interested you in the first place ? It's the fact that you wanted these items that made them expensive in the first place, so the moment you try to sell them they loose all value (unless an other Suttles appears).
Noone will ever pay as much as you did for these items, and I doubt you ever sold any 404 craft item (but maybe i'm wrong) . All I see in your 404 trades is a bait for shit offer and a call for attention over your collection (Sorry if I sound like a dick but I don't see how to put it nicely).
To be short: you create trades with items that you like too much to sell at common market price, which is the same thing as people selling their unusual with the "it's my dream unusual I won't sell it unless overpay" shit. Sure the items are for sale, but you will never sell them because noone values them more than you do.
Not everyone thinks flies is a shit effect and I've recieved rather nice offers in the past and a few decent ones recently.
Market price is fucking retarded, if its the only one on the market who controls the price? No one. I know most of my flies aren't one of one on the market, but everyone with one up for trade like theirs or have a different price. My flies ol geezer got an offer of 20 keys, there's 3 up for trade. Mine and some guys have no price. THe only one with a price wants 1.3 buds which I found reasonable and I'd probably take if I got offered it. Or look at my hearts prancers, I've gotten offers of around 2.5 buds and people think I'm stupid for not taking it. One is duped like fuck and the other is clean. The only other one for trade is one of the dupes, and I offered him 1.5 buds and he declined saying he wants 2.5, which I agree with as well. I got an offer of 1 bud 12 keys on my prancer which is an amazing first offer to start me off with.
Unusual spreadsheets shouldn't exist, its all objectionable. There are some basics to unusual pricing like burning at the top, nuts at the bottom, meanwhile hearts/flies/bubbles all are weird as fuck in the market. Flies/bubbles are generally at the bottom and hearts in the middle, however a lot of people collect these effects. Saying my hats should be worth shit because of their effect is retarded, I'm not the only one who finds value in flies. Saying so is a blatant lie; sure there are less collectors now than before because most of them are glued to their current hats or they quit trading/tf2. I DO have a buyout on my items, I'd just rather not list it because no one offers buyout anymore. If there's a buyout then it just puts a bar on what to offer under. I'd sell my flies for a relatively normal price tbh, I've just yet to receive one of those offers.
Anywho, now to talk more about my craft numbers. These are weird, I'll be honest. I've recieved many good offers in the past and declined(regret it) but some people actually do find interest in them, believe it or not. I sold my #666 collection for 10+ buds, which was decent. 420's are actually desired, and there was a collection on outpost in the past with amazing offers. I've received decent offers recently for my 420s because most people understand it's meaning. 404's are a little less know, but some people have taken a fancy to them and gave me offers of more than normal value.
The market used to be an amazing place where trading was fun, and not QUICKSELL THAT QUICKSELL THAT. NO SPREADSHEET PRICE OR LOWER? HA FUCK OFF. The market used to be fun as shit to trade in and was a very positive environment half the time. I enjoyed posting on source op, reading the shit that was up, and commenting on peoples shit. The market when the new unusual effects came out was fun because everything was new, but after that everything collapsed. It just wasn't the same, there were these new effects that didn't fit in with the rest and the market scrambled to mix them in, but in these new unusuals became extremely common dropping the price of the older effects in the end. This led to quicksales being commonplace and the market's prices completely changing.
Also, thanks to you I've decided I'll just quit tf2 in general. Gonna get rid of all my tf2 shit.

I'll give you 420 keys for it. By which I mean I will give you 6 keys for it as that seems like an okay offer? I do not know, I don't trade team fortress 2 virtual items for other team fortress 2 virtual items with any sort of regularity.
Please respond.
Tempted, as I wouldn't be losing on that deal...i wouldn't be gaining either
Tempted, as I wouldn't be losing on that deal...i wouldn't be gaining either
Oh so you paid 6 keys? 8 then (that is all of my keys)
Like I said, I have no idea of how to price things
Wish I had much of anything for trade at the moment.

I like the hat, but I'd take his 8 key offer since i want dota shit
Interesting, how many times this trade reported and still open with 20 days offline and empty bp.

More interesting is the change in peoples opinion on it over time.
