It was pretty hilarious how he only lasted like a day as a mod. Suttles was out for blood.
How did he only last a day?

Holy shit, YES, I'M NOT ON THAT LIST.
I've waited for the day where people left me out of their collections.

Thanks, Helen, means a lot to me. The only time I've used the site since I got trade banned was to close my trades and donate some more cash. There's no reason to ban users and hide their posts for being trade banned if they haven't even logged in to the damn site in weeks.

No man, you don't understand. My complete non-use of the site and lack of trading in any capacity was a serious risk to the community.
Yes indeed.

I had to do this today :v:
Then why was he made mod in the first place?
It wasn't obvious at the time. When you're a mod on outpost, you're in the spotlight. You piss hundreds of people off, because everybody flips out when they get banned or have their trades closed. Those people dig into every little thing you do, and try to burn you for it. This is what happened to him.
I had a guy adding the owner of TF2Shop and Steamrep admins desperately trying to ruin my trading career because I sold a bud to someone with a tag. Steamrep's FAQ says trading with or buying from a scammer is against the rules, but nothing about selling to. I risked a charge back and was nice to him, and was safe from it.
Long story short, if you're big in the community or anybody doesn't like you, mind your p's and q's, because the jackals will jump at anything to get you.

The trading community "associated" with SteamRep is insane, especially those wannabe vigilantes who do nothing all day but stalk big traders to shut them down.
I see people jumping the gun on others for trading weapons with marked people. I highly doubt this is how SR was supposed to turn out.

To be honest I tried to do that too with people I didn't like the attitude of. But I saw people getting reported for making normal trades with scammers that got marked ages ago for trading with scammers.

I couldn't agree more. They were founded as an advisory site- "you shouldn't trade with these people". Now they've become Big Brother, and it's shifted to "you're forbidden to trade with these people". I get it, scammers need to be stopped, but they've gone too far.
yea, steamrep is a shitter lmfao
sucks the community has their heads too far up their asses
Steamrep does far more good than bad. It's got its downfalls, but overall it's a massive help to the community. Look at other virtual paypal trading communities without a steamrep equivalent and you'll find that half the people you interact with are scammers.
I've always felt like trading needs no regulators but I'm probably alone in that belief

Yes, it does. Just as warrantless searches without probable cause on the street may save someone's life, but makes every citizen that much less free. I don't believe the sacrifice of privacy and civil liberty is worth that security. Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.

The concept of SteamRep is great, and their cause is just, but some of their rules and retarded. SteamRep should be used to warn the community about actual scammers, not the shit that most people get marked for today.
Sure it does a lot more good than it does bad, but it fucks over good people in the process. Should people like samhudson be marked (or even I?) be marked for unknowingly buying shady items? The goal of it is to point out people who are a threat to the community. Take the time and think, is sam really a threat to the community? I mean c'mon, their rules about "buying from scammers" is ridiculous. The only people who should actually get marked for that are people who are knowingly aiding known scammers/hijackers to get rid of their stuff fast. (Sorry for using sam in this example, but it's the best one I could think of)
The worst is that you get these pathetic excuses for vigilantes who try to enforce rules they know nothing of, making SR look like the unwanted "Big Brother" of TF2.
I made a report on Steamrep 6 months ago and it's still just sitting there. :v:

Ok, #2 of the vigilantes you cited. We're talking about him now. Fuck all the "lol this guy added me and didn't read my notes" posts, motherfucking Trading Co. This guy has a brand new account, January 2013. The second he makes it, he starts trading on Outpost for cash trades. I look through his IP logs, can't link him to an alt. He's fishy as fuck, but there's no hard proof. Suddenly, he's absurdly active on the Outpost forums and SR forums, very knowledgeable about trading, very involved in the community. He applies as an outpost mod, but his app is deleted without being declined. I ask some of my friends who work there, they won't give me info.
Who is this guy? He must be a scammer alt, nobody 2 months into trading is dealing heavily in cash, absurdly active and knowledgeable in the community, and applying for moderator of Outpost.
Edit: Fuck VenGanZa too, he barges into discussions he has nothing to do with for the sole reason of shitposting, often with misinformed and incorrect posts.

That TradingCo guy is full of BS. His IP is 1 digit off of a scammers IP from the same town as him. http://pastebin.com/WkJsPZT5
And "i came into TF2 for the primary reason of idling," lol.
