That TradingCo guy is full of BS. His IP is 1 digit off of a scammers IP from the same town as him. http://pastebin.com/WkJsPZT5 And "i came into TF2 for the primary reason of idling," lol. Edit: http://steamrep.com/profiles/76561198080483230?t=1361046951 "Not my alt, I swear"
yeah that guy is quite obviously http://steamrep.com/profiles/76561198080483230?t=1361046951 's main account. Surprised he's not marked.

It's clear as day to me that he's a scammer alt, but you and I get cautioned instead.

That's more than enough evidence.
I made a report on Steamrep 6 months ago and it's still just sitting there. :v:
I made a report on steamrep and within 10 minutes the guy was marked and he couldn't trade his 18 hijacked buds with anyone but the scummiest of traders. He still can't sell most of them off.
His IP is in the exact same range as the scammer alt and they've had the same idle accounts added since both accounts were made.. That's more than enough evidence.
Give him a reddit caution, then. You're one of the few down to earth admins. While we're talking shit on SR, I've still got some bones to pick. I got cautioned for buying a V Max from a mildly shady source. It was my fault, due to some extenuating circumstances I was not quite as thorough as I should have been for an item of that value. Mattie adds me, and I immediately tell him I messed up, and explain the situation. I am extremely forthcoming with all evidence. He gives me a caution anyways, for a purchase that was not shady enough to warrant it. It's my first offence, and not for a cash trade. As per the SR FAQ, that tag is removed when I contact an admin about it. I contact him, and he tells me I'm an OP mod, and should know better, so it doesn't apply. That's funny, a week ago when J-O-N bought from two marked scammer separately in the same day, his caution was removed off the bat, despite not qualifying as a "first offense", since it was for cash. So I make my appeal. He messages Penguin, the owner of TF2Shop, lies to him and tells him I'm brokering items for hijackers. Now I'm good friends with Penguin, and had been talking to him about the situation since it began, so he knew it was a crock of shit and kept me on the staff. Regardless, my appeal has been ignored and remains untouched. While Penguin would never speak ill of him, from what I've seen he's been mistreated by him too. He's applying for TF2Shop to be an SR community, and Mattie demanded that he implement a system that shows who every item is being sold by, within a crazily short amount of time. It cost him around $1,000 to have it coded for it, but he couldn't say no because he is in no position to refuse, as they hold his applications acceptance in their hands. The moment I step down as a mod from TF2OP, Helen defriends me. I'm sorry I bought the Max, I messed up, but did nothing to deserve that callousness. I gave her an unusual for Christmas, for god's sake. Today's Outpost ban was unbelievably unnecessary, and had no purpose other than to slap me in the face. She's good friends with another caution tagged trade banned user, but didn't go and ban him. Favoritism, pure and simple. Go ahead and rate me dumb, Pretender, because they gave you a stupidly generous sum of money. They are insanely involved in the community, but the Caspers have mistreated me, and this is my spiel about it. Now, Butane. I think this man actively strives to be the biggest asshole in the community. Every interaction I've had with him has been absurdly unpleasant. Should someone who puts [t]http://puu.sh/2u8Aa[/t] on their profile be an admin that we're supposed to look up to or respect? He doesn't even trade, I don't understand what business he has in the community. While I was a mod, thrice I reported him to the admins for having a private profile. Thrice, I was told he was above the rules and would not be banned. He, like many of the other admins, sit upon their ivory tower and abuse their position for their power trips and to hurt those they dislike. Many of them belong on the shitlist too.
Being able to sell your items for money was the downfall of trading. If it wasn't for that scams would be much much rarer.
Being able to sell your items for money was the downfall of trading. If it wasn't for that scams would be much much rarer.
Being able to sell items for money is the only reason I traded. I got bored of the game almost a year ago, I was only in this for the cash. I think a decent portion of the economy feels the same.
I'm still in it thoroughly for items and for fun. Virtual items are just too ethereal for me to be comfortable cash trading with them, and lately more than ever it seems to be a curse, carded keys etc. It's cash traders that are destabilizing things for item traders. People like Long trying to make pennies on each Key he had, and people who mass duplicate extremely rare items for thousands in profit. If profit's your only goal, there's no way to obtain that unless you step on a few faces along the way. For you to profit, someone else has to suffer. Money doesn't come from nowhere. It's made trading so cold and bitter, so much statistics and bottom lines, when it used to be all about just getting neat looking hats between rounds of 2Fort.

You're still fucking the buyer long-term. Craft numbers deflate by half or more in hours. Unless they just collect and genuinely don't care, which is pretty uncommon.
I usually loathe these people as they worsen the experience for casual traders in my opinion but you were one of the few good ones since you were always buying at fair prices.
I made a Price Production Frontier chart and found it was more economical to deal in bulk at lower profit per unit. My prices were out of greed too. I'd periodically give away a lot of free shit to new traders I saw scrap banking on Outpost, though.
Mattie also made me mad He removed me because my name was "GGOD420" or some shit, because I was just dicking around He called me a impersonator/scammer, and removed me. HE refuses to readd me, fucking retarded. I WAS TRYING TO GIFT HIM A SELF MADE KEY FOR HIS FUCKING BIRTHDAY BUT W/E I sent him multiple apologies about the name shit and I even wrote him a good 2-3 paragraph thing, but I didn't get a single goddamned reply or anything. Oh well, all rich people are the same I guess.
Yeah fuck it. If I don't like the next offer on my Robo I'll just pull it and keep the thing. The fact I bumped the trade for three months for bupkis really annoys me.

I found a buyer for my 27 #404s, I feel bad but 8 buds in this market can get me w/e i want To whoever said my #404s are stupid in this thread, patience is how I make profit. (if buds are 26 keys, im actually making profit in the end. I paid on average, 5 keys per #404(with some lower, some high it averages up to around 5), so 135 keys for 208 over a long period of a few months. I'm rather pleased with this, as he's keeping them (hopefully). I sold a #666 collection for 10 buds~ in the past as well I regret actually trading them, but getting them is being a pain because of people wanting me to pay buds and shit.
Keeping a craft number collection on an alt until you reach a satisfactory level can prevent folks from being able to tell you're collecting, so they'll be less likely to try and burn you. Either way, trading's not dead. Just more involved than I'd like for some of the more valuable things.

Some type of hat with that
Personally I was hoping I'd be able to swap the Robo Sandvich for a decent all-class, an interesting Modest maybe, but things are just crawling along and at this rate that's a pipe dream. Too many people busy grubbing buds for cash or trying to flip bad unusuals to get what I want these days. Maybe someday...
i want one of those sandviches but didn't they drop really low or something or was that another box item?
The price was manipulated by a few jealous folks shortly after its Valve Store rerelease, but it's still listed as ~5 buds even on Backpack. It WAS six before the manipulation, so that's what I say it is. The Ap-Sap fell pretty hilariously fast though, so maybe that's what you're thinking of.
So you are already overpricing this 'set' and want people to overpay if they buy them separately? [T]http://i.imgur.com/br45ohp.png?1[/T]
The whole point of selling a set is that you LOWER the price with all of the items combined, so people actually WANT to buy the set as opposed to each item individually. For the seller's AND the buyer's convenience. This is how real world economics work. If you want to buy a game console that's 200 and a game that's 50, but there is a package deal for 300, why the fuck would anyone purchase the package? Plus that isn't even a set it's just a bunch of random unrelated items.
That's too much effort, haha I'm fine with getting 8 buds, I can get like... Some type of hat with that
With only 6 of those you can get my haunted ghosts samur-eye :3
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/2adPD/b25f525522[/img_thumb]
God damn it, you made me think that was recently, I just searched his user to find the trade only to be a month old. :v:
I've always been eh about steamrep, especially helenangel after she "helped" out on the wiki. She added some information about being cautious of scammers and things like that, on the wiki page about trading. Then a regular editor on the wiki removed her info because apparently similar info had been removed in the past. Then she started accusing him of manipulating the wiki to help his friend who apparently was a scammer.
-stuff-
If all that is true, then they really need to get their community items removed.
If all that is true, then they really need to get their community items removed.
Most of what he said is true. (Although I have no particular opinion on Butane, but he does do some really weird stuff like remove everyone on his friends list for nothing, make his profile private for extended periods of time, private inventory, etc.) I used to be friends with Helen and Mattie, but recently they've been nothing but trouble for me as well. Speculation alone should not be enough to ruin someone's reputation.

Skyrider saw my post first, and very politely helped me, like a good admin would. He deleted my rep thread because someone commented in it for a trade on Outpost, without me asking them to. He's extremely rude to everyone he interacts with.
