When I first got my Houwar, I went onto a server just like you did and someone sent me a trade request. I don't normally accept since I'm more the collector of what I like rather than a trader but I accepted it to see what would happen. First thing he does is ask where I got it. I told him I bought it and how you got one by doing all the Treasure Hunt achievements. He then refers to it as a "Squidward hat" and adds in a reclaimed and a gibus saying that "the hat is not worth much. I'm overpaying" (Obviously I spelt what he said right here. What he put down was a lump of gibberish).
Idiots abound. I've also had a random person add me and when I accepted it to see what he wanted, he read of this shopping list of items from my backpack he wanted (Accessories, Houwar, Planeswalker goggles to name a few). Can't even remember what he was offering (think it was a bills) but I just cut it short and said I wasn't trading.

TF2 forces a palette of sorts on any decal to "fit" more, and not have crazily vivid colours. Makes decals washed out at best, plain ugly at worst (unless you make them with the filter in mind, which can look cool and fitting)
People like to pretend they are the only one who can get full coloured ones still so they can charge for it, while all you need to do is really just swap a file or two around.

You pretty much change the default texture to the picture you want. As easy as installing a mod, and looks really nice if you go about it like you do when making .vtf files for sprays.
