It used to say that I was the 3rd owner of it ... now today I see I was the 5th.
A bit later I refreshed it and became the 8th owner.
Yet again, refreshed and now the 7th owner ... one of the guys name now comes up twice...
I can't see anyone else with it in their BP, but one of them is set to private and one has "new items" which is a primevil warrior and a cheaters lament...
I'm still listed as the last owner, but this is wierd, feels so suspicious...
Is this a dupe?

What a disgrace. The guy has all the bp.tf admins in his friends list, the vote was overwhelmingly negative, and yet it gets accepted.
The website was much better off when admins couldn't accept/reject suggestions because obviously, their opinion > the entire community.

I remember back when one of the stated goals was to create a price checking system that would prevent shady manipulation.
And clearly, it's a flawless success, this is very open manipulation!

As someone who uses refined on a constant basis, I love the key price. I don't see why people are willing to pay such ridiculous amounts, though.
I'm pretty sure the admins on backpack.tf accept/reject the prices depending on the amount of proof people supply. Not how many positive/negative votes it gets.
IIRC brad pitt went over it in a recent interview with Kritzkast.

Which is why key price will go up forever. People on outpost squeeze every scrap they can get, Long posts that scrap squeezing, price is raised, more scrap is squeezed, etc.

Probably people like me who don't give a rats ass about trading anymore and just needed a couple keys for an item once in a while.
But I honestly don't see much sales with keys anymore.
I recently bought a key for an unbelievable price from a highballer (I won't say how much).
You might say buyers like me give an excuse for greedy children to raise the price ... but I can already see key sales dropping.
On my ventures to look for a key seller on TF2OP ... I found [I]two[/I] ... the first one I came across was on [I]page 6[/I] and the other on page 8.
I remember the days when I logged on to look for sellers and page one would have 2-3 sellers already. This leads me to believe keys will drop soon. It seems to me that sellers seem to already see that selling at this price is hard and the trade traffic of keys is slowing down.

These dumb spreadsheets will never meet their claimed intentions. They hold 90% of the blame of bullshit prices. The other 10% are the morons who follow it. But these morons would have no clue what a highball price is if it wasn't for these spreadsheets/websites. These spreadshits tell them how much to highball by, which they do ... then the spreadshits update to accommodate the new highball price, therefore telling them that their highball price is no longer a highball ... so they highball some more .. and so on..
This is exactly how Buds went up from 13 keys since 2011.
If anything is to blame for TF2 trading going to the shit-house, it's these spreadsheets.

Don't worry, keys [I]will[/I] drop. We all experienced this with Buds. Yes, Buds aren't 13 keys anymore, but they aren't 32 either. Greedy asshole sellers can only push the patience of the buyers to a certain limit ... we all know the saying "Don't push your luck", well they're pushing it. They pushed Buds to 32 keys ... to buyers, that was the last straw, no one wanted any of it, it was far too expensive, demand went down .... therefore no sales, therefore sellers were forced to drop the price. This is why Buds went down to 26-27 and pretty much stabilized at that for a while.
The same will happen to keys and for any item for that matter. Otherwise, by the opposite logic, every item price can rise forever. In my experience, trades for keys have slowed down and the shit-storm has turned into a fucking hurricane, honestly doesn't look like keys stand a chance at rising much further.
I also recently bought 2 keys via PayPal because saving up the metal was too fucking hard. I hear a few other buyers have already turned to cash trading for keys. If this trend continues, one might say due to demand, PayPal keys will then rise ... well maybe so ... but remember, they can only rise to a certain limit ... they can't go past $2.50 otherwise what's the bloody point. Hell, they can't even raise it slightly below that, because we have to pay fees which may equal to or be more than $2.50 anyway.
TLDR - I believe keys will lower soon or at least fail to rise much further ... if you've quit trading, grab a beverage and and let's ride out this hurricane pointing and laughing
