uh yeah, i think i get your point, simply having the label say "food" in russian seems pretty odd
What?
I mean the word "ПИЩА" does not fit
here better word "Законсервированные (name food)"
Pretty sure he's trying to say that 'Пища' is the Russian equivalent of Engrish and looks like it came through an automated translation program.
I mean the word "ПИЩА" does not fit

that's far to long though
As the person who came up with the idea to label it 'ПИЩА', I can say that it's meant to be odd but in a specific way, and if it's odd in some other way then that's bad and I'm to blame.
I found the word by running 'food' through a translator. The label is intended to read 'FOOD', hinting that it's a very suspicious and unappetizing blend of low-quality ingredients, made by some state-run factory that doesn't care very much for marketing. If it sounds odd in that way, then everything is fine.
If the word I picked is an odd choice for any other reason, a better alternative would be very welcome.
But yeah, Законсервированные seems way too long to fit.
that's far to long though
Unfortunately it has no synonyms
"Законсервированные (name food)" most optimal variant for this

I assure you, even if it is so, then the best option though a long then what I offer you

Well, you can reduce the the letters

What does 'говядина' translate to? It appears on a number of similar real life products.

You can also add on the roof, a quality mark of the USSR

Monty Python anyone?
My shitty rendition so far

Remember this sculpt of original blue heavy weapons guy John Henry?
[t]http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b236/mrsunfish/HenryFinal3.jpg[/t]
I figured some of the things he has could make for cool items.
Mainly the open vest with the overalls underneath but the gloves and scarf could be cool too.
Also the only thing that's from valves original rendition of the heavy John Henry is the scarf so idk might be good to try and contact Kristian Davidson and see if it's ok to take the ideas from him.
i still have that model rigged, i just never had it facial flexed

говядина - beef
Тушенка (stew) also fits.
And btw, better make it more red\pink, cause it looks more like bread than a canned meat.
Reposting because no one's claimed anything yet.
i could do the axe, but probably not anything else. lettin ya know cause i'm not sure if you'd like only 1 guy doin only 1 item or if you want someone to do the whole set.
i still have that model rigged, i just never had it facial flexed
Isn't that the other one though?
[t]http://i.imgur.com/ni7Jk.jpg[/t]
that one
yea
yea
Why didn't you do the flexes? or are they a pain?
[editline]21st January 2013[/editline]
[sp]I know nothing of modeling. [/sp]
dont know how
Is that why the flexed fixed scarecrow won't be realeased?
Trey did the flexes on that.
Trey did the flexes on that.
Well Valve seems to have removed them, and spark will never released the fixed version. There has to be a reason he is holding it back. Also it's a joke.
I still don't get why you chose Pichia as a the name for the canned food.
It's a fungi, the only thing that makes sense is that's it's rich in protein which may have been have what you were going for?
Wow VTF plug in isn't working for photoshop 6 64 bit
Yes I have all the files in there right directories.
Can someone help?
I think I'm going to keep the old word. not sure if the joke is translating well. worst case scenario is we continue TF2's long tradition of being comically oblivious of other cultures. thanks for the tip on the quality seal though. btw, can you tell me how expiration dates look in Russia?
dont know how
Any chance of releasing it without facial flexes? Or convincing someone else to make flexes for it?
people have said not to use tf2 fonts in items, would should I use as an alternative, I don't have a specific item I was just wondering for future reference

anything that's not a TF2 font
it really depends on what the item is
picking out fonts is half the fun, it's like trying on clothes
