is it possible to only have certain parts of a model be shiny? theres some glass on an item i'm makin and i was hopin it could be shinier than the wood part its attached to. would this just require 2 vmts?

will that still use 2 vmts? if i put in phong stuff how do i have it only do it on certain parts of the model? are there 2 vtfs involved?
sorry i still dont know much about vmt stuff. i cant really find a good tutorial on it.

you can use 1 vmt
put the phong/envmap mask into the alpha of the base vtf

You can use both base apha or bump alpha to mask phong, glow, transparency and such.

I will smooth the bandage eventually but if I smooth the blade it will ruin the sharpness.
Also I'm not uploading to the Workshop.
I'm assuming it's a WIP since it's still kinda blocky and needs to be thinner/longer. Have you tried posing it with a class and see how it looks like?

It's an early WIP indeed and it's going over one of the Spy weapons. (not sure which one though)
The blade is longer. It's just the angle (I made it slightly longer though)

The blade needs to be thinner in that case, there needs to be some finesse to spy items, make the handle shorter and thinner, the blade longer and thinner, the bandage needs to also be thinner, and more haphazardly placed, overlapping etc., sparkwire recently uploaded the glassassin, take a look at the bandages on that.

Alright. I will do that and I will also make the blade longer. However I had the concept art behind the model all the time so I won't be resizing the handle.

well i was sorta going for the imperfect "hand-made" look, but i suppose i could make it perfectly symmetrical for the sake of it looking better.

Completed! Once i'll upload it on the workshop, i'll release it here like the other set weapons, since it replaces the pistol, the scout will be able to use it too
