Maybe texture a little knitted pattern on add a normal map similar to the Holiday Punch?
I can't texture.
people would probably be more inclined if you made it less poofy and smoothed.
Flatshading is no better.
Hey, could someone make a Doviculus pyro head replacement?

Not with that attitude you can't!

Look up Edge Split for Blender.

so... yeah, its flared out at the moment so it can be jiglebone'd properly when its jigglebone'd i want it to look like my first iteration... wich is below

but teamcoloring will have to be figured out on the coat itself, in a recognisable and fasionable way
Thank you for doing this, but you didn't have to go to complicated, you could just make it an extension of his current vest just like your first iteration (its perfect) and there could be a tear where his ammo pouch is, as for color you could just make it match his vest or whatever design you want. Thank you again.
Not with that attitude you can't!
I literally can't, I don't have the skills to create a TF2-esque fabric texture from scratch.
Look up Edge Split for Blender.
Oh hey, didn't think about that.
Then don't do it from scratch. Look at similar TF2 in-game textures to get a good idea of what you need.
The colour palette helps too
Using a reference is still from scratch.
well
i SUPPOSE I might be able to do the non-sleeve parts of it (if my UV wasn't so terrible), but I have to add wrinkles on the sleeves
i have no experience with photoshop and it will all just look really crude.

rome wasn't built in a day, won't get better if you don't try
trial and error, trial and error.
and error and error and error...
Is the import tool not working properly for anyone else besides me? It seems like the latest update removed the button(s) that actually let you preview/compile your item.

i don't want to sound like a spoiled brat but i don't want to wait three years until i'm good enough to do this
i have absolutely no idea where or how to start and it's just urhrughurh wrinkles euharuhudgsjk
too bad

What makes you think you need three years to get at any level. It's about how dedicated you are to the craft. Dedication is the difference between "finally getting at an acceptable level" in 3 months or 30 years.
too bad
How did you get so good? Did you just practice all the time or did it come naturally? Got any tips/tutorials?
I tried using Edge Split, turned out quite well.
Would it be a misc, or a hat?
Probably a hat.
or you could take a diferent aproach to solve the problem?
no one said it was easy. but if you really cant wait or bother to try, then you might as well quit now and just do something else.
Basecolors and two styles:

I will buy that item

could probably use some more thickness but very nice nonetheless

How will that work? Changing styles doesn't change equip regions. The only way I think it could work is having the cowl be a separate model, different item or have the whole thing be a hat.

Secret to succes is lots and lots of practice and listening to feedback.
Being curious and willing to explore new things also helps.
As said before it boils down to trial and error, a professional pottery baker has created hundreds of total failures before he gets somewhat good.
good luck.
Every failed item is actually a progress, since you know you shouldn't do that twice. Keep practicing until you've done all the errors, then you'll be a god.

What are you thinking of naming it?
What are you thinking of naming it?
The Robbin' Hood
Keeping hatters hatted and wallets empty
:v:

Blaholtzen said its a must to make very weird grumpy noises while texturing
Dutchman said to rub your nipples clockwise
Its a start I guess.
Just throwing this out there.
The Track Terrorizer is the most fucking clever design, holy shit.
I just sat in the SDK for like, half an hour studying it, examining it, it's just so good. I mean, I know I'm kissing ass right now, but god damn. Really branches out and shows what modelers are capable of. Inspired me to keep practicing.

Think it would be cool to have a Robin Hood cape on it aswell?
