I can sort vouch for this. I run 64 bit Windows 7 with CS5 and tried installing the VTF plugin for Photoshop, and it just doesn't install at all, leaving me to go into VTF edit, export, edit in photoshop, then re-import to VTF Edit.

But the Ban Hammer is equipped in Gabe Newell's Engineer, why do people make pyro mods for it?
I use photoshop for everything except .vtf files. For them, the VTF plugin for GIMP still works.

does anyone know why blender changes smoothing of objects when you join them? it also seems to completely screw up the uv patterns. is there a way to have smoothing and uvs stay the same?

I have never had that happen to me before. Some smoothing seems a little weird sometimes before i join objects but never had the issue you are experiencing.

Well, given that I don't have a player model to work off of, the class it is for could always be changed.
Last time I tried to extract a model from TF2 into Blender, I encountered a whole host of problems.
What happened?
I decompiled the model as outlined [url=http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=8971]here[/url], except the .qc file was completely blank. It was a while ago, though, so I might try and re-extract the model again.
