it's like fedoras You can try making a fedora look different but it's still a fedora That hat and the tc are both military peaked caps
The Team Captain, Head Honcho, and Wiki Cap are peaked caps. Variation is possible within reasonable realms. Hell, the Flipped Trilby, Fed-Fighting Fedora, and Fancy Fedora all look rather different from one another while all technically being fedoras, they each took variation on the basic design of what a fedora is.
both the Hat of Cards and the Capo's capper already got in game,
Sadly, yes. Has the capper been updated with the new model yet? Can't remember. [editline]3rd February 2013[/editline] if anyone needs me, I'll be in the angry dome.
Wow really i didnt know this thanks for telling me Look, I've been sitting on this goddamn set for around 3 months now and a majority has been waiting on badger to work on it. If you wanted me to remake, why not tell me before it gets textured.
What are you getting so upset for? I was just telling you the truth... If you know that, then why are you acting like it's such a big deal to remake it? It's not even that difficult of a hat to make. I would have told you to redo it if I'd seen it before it was textured. Did you expect me to follow every single model you make or something?
ok so this is ready to release but i'm honestly not happy with the texture on the hat, i feel its a little too undetailed. badger says its fine and that hats are generally undetailed but i just feel like it's pretty much base colors.
Turn the leather band at the front black, anything over the top seam of the hat lighter green, edge highlights more obvious on the hat's rim at the front and colour hue variation in shadows and highlights.

Also, it doesn't seem to me that you follow anyone's models very much aside from lurking, considering these are your first posts in the thread.

Always wanted a suit like that for Demo.
ok so this is ready to release but i'm honestly not happy with the texture on the hat, i feel its a little too undetailed. badger says its fine and that hats are generally undetailed but i just feel like it's pretty much base colors.
Hat could use a bit of a better texture, but its alright. Can you make the Rocket Launcher work with the original (The normal equip and not the 'The Original') and not the Black Box/Liberty Launcher/Other. The only rocket launcher skin for the original v file I can find that I like is the Party Cannon with Streamer Rockets.

How come i can move the bottom of this model fine? the vertices don't move with it [img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/modelissue.jpg[/IMG_thumb] But when i move the top part of the model the vertices move with it, how can i prevent this?
Made a Barbour style waistcoat for my Farmer sniper. I know, it's green, but I've tried Red team style brown and it just didn't look right. Green is a bit of a grey area as we already have green weapons and cosmetics but I dunno if this might be too much since it covers the body. I'm open to any other colour schemes or suggestions to try. Blue will probably be a different colour, haven't decided yet.
Here are some quick color ideas:

If I want to post I will, otherwise I don't bother. You're not some special snowflake that gets all my attention. Also I don't see how it's possible that it would take anywhere above 1 hour (and that's being liberal) for something as simple as that hat to be unwrapped.
i always felt that hat was tacked on for the some purpose of having a cosmetic in the set, it really has nothing to do with the rest of the set and isn't very interesting by itself. I'm pretty sure I said that before but if not please don't yell at me for not saying that before I probably just forgot

Just wondering, is there any way to make an item paintable while keeping the detail from the brushstrokes, or can paintable parts of the texture only be solid colors?
okay well I think if you really wanna keep the hat two things have to happen. 1, I'd change it to brown, as that's the only color besides gray that I see in the rest of the set. 2, I'd make it sharper and more angular. your set is very mechanical and the soft looking hat sticks out. look to the Tank Buster and Airborne Armaments sets. both are kind of based on consistent color and geometry (black and boxy, green and round) and their hats match [editline]3rd February 2013[/editline]
Just wondering, is there any way to make an item paintable while keeping the detail from the brushstrokes, or can paintable parts of the texture only be solid colors?
if the paintable section has any details on it they will be overlaid onto the new color. take your texture, and put it over a layer with a new color in your image editing program and set the texture layer to "multiply" and that will show you how it would look in that color

Small update for my gnomegineer, excuse the crappy screen. a.)Need to work more on the hat b.)Should I sculpt the beard for some detailed normal map or keep flat normal and some hand painted strokes? c.)Any advice is welcome.
[t]http://puu.sh/1WAdG[/t] Any critiques?
its really busy around the frame
So right now, I'm trying to get custom WarningSounds to work in Mann Vs. Machine missions. When NeoDement taught me how to use custom sound files without using the manifest, I was so excited when I realized I could use the SMNC Spawn tunes (which Skunky extracted for me). I decided to try to test to see if the Combat Girl spawn and death tunes would work upon spawning a Giant Soldier. So I converted the tunes into .wav files, and placed them into a new folder. Game didn't play any sound upon spawning the soldier. Then I made them into .mp3 files. Same result. This is part of what it looks like now in the test mission pop file:
WaveSpawn { Name "primarywave" Where spawnbot TotalCount 1 MaxActive 1 SpawnCount 1 WaitBeforeStarting 5 WaitBetweenSpawns 0 TotalCurrency 0 FirstSpawnWarningSound "\mvmcustom\soldier_giant_spawn1.mp3" FirstSpawnOutput { Target MyNamedEntity Action OnTrigger } DoneWarningSound "\mvmcustom\soldier_giant_death.mp3" DoneOutput { Target MyNamedEntity Action OnTrigger } RandomChoice { TFBot { Template T_TFBot_Giant_Soldier_Spammer } } }
According to NeoDement:
6:50 PM - AbeX300: Well I was trying to play the SMNC Spawn sounds, by converting them to .wav files first. Game didn't play the sound files. Then I converted them to .mp3. Still didn't play. 6:50 PM - NeoDement: oh right you need the exact right settings for a wav
So the question is, what are the settings to make a .wav file be able to play in Team Fortress 2? And would they be doable in Audacity [sup](if so, how?)[/sup]?
[t]http://puu.sh/1WAdG[/t] Any critiques?
looks like a lot, too much even, all bundled up there in the middle, it's a bit of a mess the weakest part in terms of looks is probably the scope, can't really put my finger on just what it is about it though. Both the scope and the bar on top look very off to me, especially when right next to eachother and the shotgun aspect of it is a bit unclear imo, like, is the forgrip mean to be just a forgrip or a pump? if just a forgrip the notches for better grip are sort of unneeded. keep at it
There, shoulder pads. Still needs some fixins here and there. But anything else?
Anything. Anything to say at all? How do I join the emporium circlejerk so people reply to me?
Ditched the green and just gone for team friendly colours instead. I've sampled colours from Sniper's clothing for the Red one but changed it for Blue to help it match. I was thinking of making the part on the shoulder paintable but it might disrupt the colour recognition.
Here are some quick color ideas:
That's pretty much how the brown I did looked before (middle). I'll adjust it closer to that if people like it more than the changes I made.
Perhaps it would look better if you opened the jacket to reveal the team colour already present on his shirt, something like this: A possible style for plaid would look snazzy too.
When I was making it I had to make the decision whether to make it open or closed but I went with closed for a number of reasons. Be a bit difficult to make an open version at this point as the geometry for it isn't there and I'd pretty much have to start it again. A plaid style should be easy enough though so I'll think about doing it.
Hey, Ruskeydoo? I was wondering if you still had the files for your old Peyote sandvich lying around If so, mind making a mod to replace the Buffalo Steak with it? The Buffalo Steak is alright and all, but the peyote was what you really put effort into, and it kinda shows on the steak
Anything. Anything to say at all? How do I join the emporium circlejerk so people reply to me?
's alright Why are there pocket on the front? Seems strange that something designed to prevent explosive damage to the wearer has flimsy fabric pockets on the front.
So eeshton asked me to help him improve the design of his lumberjack axe: so i made this: any comments and crits are welcome.
Anything. Anything to say at all? How do I join the emporium circlejerk so people reply to me?
Slap on crappy base colors with a terrible paint on it. Like lime painted everything.
's alright Why are there pocket on the front? Seems strange that something designed to prevent explosive damage to the wearer has flimsy fabric pockets on the front.
[t]http://image.dhgate.com/albu_274296576_00/1.0x0.jpg[/t]
Anybody know how to fix the smoothing on a decompiled model?
