I don't know about if there is an item, but there are plugin for sourcemod which let's you play as robot, in every gamemode.
I wonder how hard it would be to port the models of the robots to replace the zombie skins.

The texture on the front of the sign is way too clean. Give it some scratches and dirt

Wasn't using the hat as an excuse. I think it looks ok with the hat. just wanted to point out I couldn't remove it. I can fix the clipping on the eyes no problem. Making the strap at the back look right on both will be tricky.
I'm not gonna rush this project as it's just for fun. Just woke up this morning and wanted to make it after watching the Boogaloo teaser again :)

Also it looks a bit too pristine, you may want to rough it up a bit in the texture and model. Fold a corner and put a dent in the handle, I guess.

really boring. that item doesn't really need a robot version in the first place so if you're going to do one make it interesting. yours appears to just be an addition of bolts which won't be visible at any distance

It's a pretty simple item so I'm not sure I could have done much more with it. There is more than just the addition of bolts but it might look better had I actually textured it as well. Either way, low priority right now, I've got items I actually wanna get on the workshop.
And I have to ask, how is what I did here any different than what was done with the Heavies football helmet? That is pretty much just the football helmet with hard edges and bolts.

Seems like this would be a cool alt-fire. similar to the Loose Cannon's, maybe the fire would ignite everyone if it overcharges, if let go before this point it could shoot out small flaming coal chunks in a shotgun spread, or something. Idk sounded neat.
