should have just helped you mark hard edges. I don't know how that works in blender but that's what you want. What he's doing is just giving you a bunch of extra polies. He's clearly coming from a rendering viewpoint, not a game model one.
also, what are you using this for? because I hate the TF logo on items, and I hate it more when it's modeled
heres the model its being used for

and youre right, i did some hard edges for my model before the guy answered the question and it cleared the smoothing up, but i'm still gonna take his advice and make the model more consistent.
Could someone run me through the process of compiling dead ringer replacements?
Kinda lost with the arms and all
how's this

I'd drop the logo regardless. The symbol is bad enough for it's meta-ness, but a crosshair on an ancient Aztec melee weapon is no bueno
how does one pushes the meat out of the can?

i'll talk it over with the concepter and see if we can think of something

pull tab now longer, thicker, all around more satisfying
unstroked my meat
I really like the concept, but the meat doesn't work. Military rations aren't push-pops. Maybe have a fork or something pushed into the side to give the meat some leverage?

Also, someone should make a sailor hat, pipe and arm tumors for Heavy.

there's a dent, I made it bigger now

Try a light/grey metal for the canister instead of yellow.
It would break the colours up and make the orange meat look better.
OP is also updated till here.

For it to make more sense, you would have to crush it a lot more, like a tube of toothpaste.
Anyway, one mechanic I was considering for the Spy was one that allowed him to "attack" people when disguised, to help maintain his act. How exactly it works in game, I do not yet know, as balancing weapons is not my business.
What is my business is trying to articulate what kind of device would do such a thing:

This also stems from my idea that the Spy needs more gadgets, though somebody pointed out that it looked too futuristic for TF2's setting, which worries me. I would hope that with the correct presentation, the idea might work. I try to go for an aesthetic that harkens to TF2 in 2007, when possible.
I would hope that with some colours, that allusion could work, though I'm not sure. I should allow this rushed, non-final layout hope to reveal my intentions:

I don't know anymore. Hopefully Sparkwire redeems the idea.

I can't see anything but a face.
anyone know the file name for the modest pile of hat models?
anyone know the file name for the modest pile of hat models?
I checked the model browser in Hammer, and found it as
models\player\items\[class name]\hat_third_nr.mdl. It's not sorted under all_class, but rather the individual classes.
So hat_third_nr I guess.
In need of a texturer for Noizeblaze's frontier pistol
[t]http://puu.sh/1Q9Ro[/t]
That looks a lot like Frontier Justice's radio crit booster, I wonder how would Valve come up with similar stats to it without carbon-copying the FJ stats?
Ooooooh I know, each sentry kill reduces damage falloff with distance. Maybe increasing accuracy in the process.
At the cost of way less generous ammo reserve. Say, 24 bullets.
Oh, sorry, this is emporium. I almost forgot how useless I am here.

Ingame test, better than what i've expected, i'm quite happy with it

If the logo is bad juju then I guess it can go without it.
Can needs more definition texture-wise.

I can't think of any electronics attached to weapons from the first couple of updates that aren't grey or team yellow. Maybe change the bottom doodad to those colors, make the gun a bit darker overall. Is it supposed to be a mateba model 6 unica?
