Sometimes frames won't sync up correctly, so one frame may not be aligned perfectly with another, making textures/ models look unaligned and split. I noticed it a lot while playing Portal especially. I'd rather have my graphics look fine than a small, unnoticeable amount of placebo, I mean mouse lag.
