I got the grimm hatte from 1100 faces to 78, I think a 90% reduction in faces is good right?

With textures that small, I think we don't have room for that sort of detail, and it might look better without.
Do the characters have face posing? I'm curious to see how that'd look, if they do.
50 polys isn't all that bad is it?
If I'm not mistaken, resolution refers to textures and not models. [editline]31st May 2011[/editline] In any case, what I meant was that the texture quality of the hat is much higher than that of the player model's.
Do the characters have face posing? I'm curious to see how that'd look, if they do.
You know what would be nice, if it was possible to somehow pull of the thing they had going on in the old Crash Bandicoot games in the game over screens and cinematics, with the overly exaggerated expressions and stretching faces.
Oui.
That looks great, perhaps make the studs a little smaller?
Do the characters have face posing? Wonderful job everyone. I only wish I could help.

so theres a new promotion, any takers? sweet sack by the way sparkwire, (is it too much of a bother to add the finished stuff to the folder? i would like to be able to keep the sources there, but if thats too much to ask then dont worry about it.)
so theres a new promotion, any takers? sweet sack by the way sparkwire, (is it too much of a bother to add the finished stuff to the folder?)
I don't like other people playing around with my stuff, I'll think about uploading my things when im done with them all.
I don't like other people playing around with my stuff, I'll think about uploading my things when im done with them all.
no one messes with the finished stuff, the finished stuff is strictly off limits to editing (unless its yours) , the other stuff, so long as you ask is fine. adding so long as its finished is fine aswell.

(was plannin on a pre-release soz things can get tested, and the gamebanana links arent working anymore, i just wanted to keep it secret)
Meanwhile, Valve has yet to make LODs while the community is making TF2 look like Minecraft.
Just page 8 of this thread gave me an immense boner. Not even halfway done and everything is looking gorgeous. Well done everyone. (I can run this game on high settings without a hitch and I will absolutely use this for a while)
I would like to be a more involved member of the team, and do map props, as there are many of them.
I bet the Bushwacka could go even lower by having the blade just be a flat plane with a texture.
I would like to be a more involved member of the team, and do map props, as there are many of them.
alrighty, send me ur steam profile, and your dropbox info. [editline]1st June 2011[/editline]
Just page 8 of this thread gave me an immense boner. Not even halfway done and everything is looking gorgeous. Well done everyone. (I can run this game on high settings without a hitch and I will absolutely use this for a while)
the issue is that if sparkwire doesnt put his finished stuff in the dropbox folder, there wont be a pre-release.
I bet the Bushwacka could go even lower by having the blade just be a flat plane with a texture.
the Bushwacka is not intended to have a transparency for the blade. the Tribalman's shiv in the other hand could be more like that since the blade has too many holes...
There needs to be a tradeoff between a few triangles vs an alpha map. Saving 5-6 tris by adding an alpha map will use more memory. Hecates has it right with the shiv/bushwacka
depends how round you want it - 6, 8 tris? Doesn't need the reverse side
Two tris if you use transparency on the texture. NO ONE TRI just distort that ol' texture around
