Found my old "low poly" loch n load. About 300 tris too much :argh:.
You could turn the barrels into squares, use less polys for the trigger, many less for the front handle, and the thing (forgot the name) under the crosshair could live without the two circles.

This project is amazing, albeit the models are extreme low-poly, when textured they absolutely don't look so. Looking forward to anything that is posted here :buddy:
This looks interesting, I'll try to make the fishcake and some other weapons!
Something about those models isn't right... It may sound ridiculous, but I think the textures are too hi-res. Or just too nice looking, I don't know. They must be distinguishable but also not having a striking resemblance to normal models.
Fishcake. :v:
Sparkwire, are you creating proper phong maps with appropriate phong settings for your low poly weapons and hats? Most of the completed weapons already do, as that's more or less the standard that the pack is following.

But it always pays to be prepared, young Sparkwire.
Somehow I have the feeling you guys could use the ProOptimizer 3ds modifier on some of the models to gain time
Somehow I have the feeling you guys could use the ProOptimizer 3ds modifier on some of the models to gain time
Same amount of polies: not really no.
Yeah, I say we mix this in with m0re's TF2 config. Shit, laptops will be able to play this.
Everyone who is taking part in this pack join this steam group: http://www.steamcommunity.com/groups/tf2lowpoly
I don't think this is the official group.
Shouldn't this come with a script which uses things like mat_fullbright 1 to make the fps even better?
mat_fullbright is a client cheat. Although I'm sure there's several other commands to use for optimization.
Yeah, I say we mix this in with m0re's TF2 config. Shit, laptops will be able to play this.
For my laptop I used the pack plus Chris' Max Frames config here: http://www.fakkelbrigade.eu/chris/configs/cfg/getconfig.php?conf=maxframes I actually gave the pack and this config plus some low quality particles from SPUF to a friend who has a really shitty computer that barely passes the min requirements with an integrated video card and he gets around 60 frames a second.
Love these low-poly models. I like to collectively call them "Quake Team Fortress" just for the irony. :v:

this is the official group. and it does is invite only. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/tf2oldschool
Shouldn't this come with a script which uses things like mat_fullbright 1 to make the fps even better?
mat_fullbright needs sv_cheats to be on
this is the official group. and it does is invite only. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/tf2oldschool
yeah, sparky, make sure to ask about these things first before jumping off the deep end... as for what to do with it now that you know about the official version it can be for the gamers using the pack
man can't wait to be released.
I've been having a go at the spy hats over the past couple weeks, there's no decent progress so far, but as soon as I have some good stuff to show I'll post it here. Glad to see this being supported by some emporium modellers too.
Half Zatoichi:
Looks like something from final fantasy on PS1. Epic. You can probably use that same exact model except scaled down for the three-rune blade.
After much procrastination, the model is done. I sent the model to pie_tony for texturing.

At this rate there's not going to be anything left for me when I get my computer back (can't model 'til then). At least leave me my own hat!
