im not trying to be a jackass, nor an asshole, its my project, and as far as im concerned, everything should go through me first, as its always been. If any of you were the head of a shared project, wouldnt you want everything want to go through you first?

God forbid someones advancing the project without involving me in it, this whole effort is all about me, not the pack!

its always been about the pack, I just feel that as the author, everything should be approved by me beforehand. that and, i am extremely territorial about things i start. it would just be easier if we drop it and everything goes as it were, checking up whenever something is changed, i have very few objections, just so long as i can keep track of whats going on. (like whats getting done what isnt, what needs adjustment, what needs to be checked up on, what i need to work on, ect. that and content control, and when i object, i will offer up an alternative, but otherwise no. surprisingly, its been this way with everyone that has worked on the pack, without anything being said.)
i havent had any problems untill sparkwire started making calls without me, i personally think the job of the project head is to say what is allowed and what isnt. if i were working on a project that any of you started, i would not make a descision without consulting you first. (such as weather or not to change an entire style of something or not, not miniscule things, such as polycount, or a texture adjustment)
Is this too low res?

Stop being a fucking idiot, focus on the project, not the fact that he decided to make something; guess what, he hasn't added this shit to the game, he's just gone out of his way to contribute to the project, he made a alternate model that fits more with the style of the pack, and then, he didn't try to shoe-horn it in, he asked for a vote from the people- you know, all those pesky talking heads that aren't you? Yeah, all those people said his arms looked better and that they'd rather have them. The fact that you started shitting bricks because he made a democratic appeal, rather then conceding to your authoritarian rule, is just, in my opinion, idiotic. The people have spoken, we'd prefer to have custom made models that fit the pack, not just a ported default model with low res textures- remember, this whole project is about making newer low res models that go with the old TFC style, not porting shit and slapping on low res textures? Sparkwire's arms fit the style much better, they look like they match the pack alot more, and people actually voted on the matter, and voted for them. Care what's best for the pack, not about your authority.
Holy shit, this project's back. I've waited so long. I love every one of you who have picked this back up. Beautiful work so far, Spark.

To be honest, I don't really think you have the place to say any of this. You started this awesome project, yeah, but then you did absolutely nothing with it for a long, long time. More work has gotten done in just a few hours in this thread by other people than what you've done for the past several months.
Or at least that's what I gather. I've subscribed to the blog and kept an eye on the YouTube uploads and the last time you posted any content was in 2009. If you don't plan on picking up the slack and doing a majority of the work yourself, I suggest you step back and let those who are willing do the work.
In my opinion, holding votes with the community is much better than waiting to get one person's approval. After all, it's the community who will be using the mod. Not everyone can have exactly what they want, and if you want something for yourself that differs from what was voted on, you can make it yourself.

im you got a point on alot of that, but he just ported the arms of the player models that are already in the pack, imho i didnt do that in the fist place because i though they were horrible as view models, i already made them into v_models before and hated them, if he can change the fingers i would be happy, whats more he change the files in the shared folder before i even knew about it, honestly now, we each have a folder that is our own personal folder, and the shared TF folder where all the finished work goes, he scared the shit outta me by accidently moving the files (and i have recently have had a monster so im on edge) not copying them, so everything got deleted, scared the helloutta me, and is responsible for part of my anger, i formally apologise, for being an asshole, i try my hardest not to sound that way, being that they way i talk is very sarcastic, and they way it types doesnt sound right, and i tend to type the way i talk. i also talk very informative but in a joking kind of way, but when im serious or mad, i can show it, i was angry with little reason behind it, besides what happens behind the scenes, untill the hands go under a major fingers change, i wont use those ones, even if they look the same just blocked out some, i want hands that arent flat.

i honestly think i have every right to argue the point as its my project, we wouldnt be argueing the point unless i made it in the first place, i am tired of the subject, and i lost my head, i apologise, and to be honest i might make it myself.... after i get my homework done. and if i would have waited to ask for help intill summer, i wouldnt have this problem, and i would have had all the weapons done in one week.
(HOLY SHIT i tend to do that offen... go back and forth on the subject, hence the name, i have two worlds going on here...)

Then just say that you think they should look differently. Don't go off on a huge fit about how you're losing control over your precious project. It's not as big of a deal as you made it out to be. And I do agree that the v_arms should have some actual polygons rather than be paper-thin. I was going to post that myself, actually, until I read your response. :v:
But yeah, you should be more receptive to community contributive change rather than try to deal with the entire project by yourself. Some really cool stuff comes out of spontaneous and unregulated community collaboration and more importantly work gets done a lot faster, which is exactly what a project that has been on hiatus for a year needs.

Well, sorry to desagree with you Insaneicide. As much as I think that sometimes Sparkiwire is annoying, I have to agree with Humblerbee.
Let's not be so harsh with him as much as he is just attempting to help. If he starts to slow things down making thing that does not concern to the project and posting it in here (like the fact that hes posting some of the OldSchool project on the Emporium not here), than he be envited to stop helping with this.
For now, all his work has been very helpful. Lets not make any premeditate acts.
Let's say that maybe Insaneicide didn't expressed himself very well with his posts. It really is his project, he does do the final word on the models and such. He's only asking for some help at his own way. That's how I understand the point of all of this.

to be honest when you put it that way, i can relate, (i love the way u say things, we seem to have the same head at times :D) and yes, i COMPLETELY acted out of hand, im a little wired, and stressed, i only asked help with hats and weapons, so long as the weapons were checked by me, (though i didnt state that in the first post i am here) and he did something that wasnt related to that and i lost it, sorry.
Let's just all stop posting large paragraphs of arguments and get back to posting images of weapons/hats.

http://www.mediafire.com/?5dd2r3zzwzj (they are old and outdated, i am paranoid about my sources, so since these are as old as the mod itself, i feel its safe to release them to the public nothing changes on the positioning or head size, the skeletons are just different.)

On the kunai, if you've got some extra room on the tris, make a hole in the square.
I thought the idea was he was going to use transparencies to make the ring and blade?
I'm pretty sure that's not possible with 1 poly on 256x256 textures.
CRAP it wont match the head
Some re-shape and it does

It would be interesting to see a new HUD that's almost 16-bit like, and hell maybe some 8-bit looking ubercharge to constrast the rest of the players. I would download this if it wasn't so hard to remove certain mods without removing them all. It's amazing how the animations work perfectly with models that are so different. I hope this turns out well.

You rang? :v:
On the kunai, if you've got some extra room on the tris, make a hole in the square.
the default knife is the same way, it uses a transparency texture, so it appears to have the dimension of the knife, while saving a ton of polys
the concheror buff banner:

And this hole should be square-shaped.
And this hole should be square-shaped.
the blade and the kunai's ring will use transparency.
just take a look at the butterfly knife to have some idea of how it will be.
For as much as my opinion matters, I think we should at least as an option have a pack with high/standard/not-quite-this-low viewmodels. There's only one rendered at a time, so their performance hit is pretty small, and they're right up in your face where the low-rezziness is most apparent. This wouldn't be easy, with the c_model weapons, but at least we could have a nice set of c_arms.
