If you think that's a legit way of earning points then you're stupid. That's pretty much the same as achievement farming.
Unless you do it after you've already earned the Gold. I don't really care after that.

Personally, I do hope it works, although even if it does I'll never use it, because Valve could still discover it. They're pretty clever, and I don't want to have all my items taken away as they've warned further infractions would result in.

Channel is always up, perhaps if you read it you'd see you are glined from the server.

Yes, hopefully today or tomorrow the server component will be available for use. (The truly inclined can use their internet detective skills to figure out how to run the server right now).
The test is progressing smoothly, and the granted item further proves the viability of this design.

irc.gamesurge.net / #opensteamworks in browse tab thing. And then I get a list of different channels (I think?)
You need to use the top most input window.
Under IRC select "GameSurge [webirc]", put in your nickname, and put #opensteamworks in the Channel.
Am I in the list (solidjake)?
