I wasn't aware only positive reactions were allowed here.

You're allowed to have an opinion. It's just that your opinions are always negative. You always find something in everything to complain about. Just saying.

Not always. My opinions were positive during the Mecha Update.

for about 2 minutes
Hyperbole.
complaining about games you don't play
playing games you exclusively complain about
either way it's silly
I would like another Mecha Update update in the near future. I'd be perfectly fine if we only got one or two new weapons, just so long as the update is as balanced and polished as Mecha. Do that a couple or four times this year and I don't care how many gobs of promo hats or imbecilic "salvaged crates" stunts you pull, you can color me a satisfied customer.
I have a feeling that this *opinion* may not be popular, but I kinda would enjoy another ARG leading up to something big.

I think we've still got a bit of ARG fatigue still left in our systems. Working through the fatigue with the MvM ARG was tough.

We still have that diary.
Fletch verifies that DoD:S has been converted to the Steam pipe delivery system in a beta phase:
We have released a SteamPipe version of the Day of Defeat:Source dedicated server.
A note of clarification: this announcement concerns Day of Defeat: *SOURCE*. Alfred announced a very similar release for the original Day of Defeat product. This is a different release. Try not to get confused!
The server is a beta sever, and works with the client beta. We encourage all Day of Defeat server operators to help test this beta. We will be converting the game over to the new system within a few weeks. (So you might as well download the server now so you’ll be ready when the switchover happens.)
The existing HLDSUpdateTool dedicated server and the existing client are NOT affected. It is not necessary to download the SteamPipe version of the dedicated sever at this time to host clients who have not opted into the beta. We will give server operators a couple of days of advanced warning before we end the beta and switch the game over to be use SteamPipe as the official version. At that point, the HLDSUpdateTool version of the server will no longer be used; all sever operators must be using the SteamPipe version of the dedicated server.
Here is a general FAQ about Source engine games and SteamPipe. It answers many anticipated questions, including how to install the dedicated server and client beta:
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7388-QPFN-2491
We will be making a broader announcement of the client beta in a day or so after we confirm that some servers are up and operable.
The client beta is available on Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Any questions not answered by the FAQ? Fire away.
Thanks for testing!
Nope, still downloading...
According to this xkcd the current ETA from a while back can be shoved back to 2-5 weeks.
I'm thinking the SteamPipe Update might be tomorrow.
Because Thursday? Maybe Friday?
C'mon steampipe please be good. I need you NO WE need you to work out!
How long do you guys think before we see some real progress on the compiler?

This is one thing I don't mind them taking their time on. Fucking this up could really hurt the game as a whole. Either way I'm optimistic/eagerly awaiting disappointment.
Does anyone know if this will fix the issues caused by using sound mods on sv_pure enabled servers? If I have any installed and want to play on a valve server I am greeting by horrid screeching.
Gosh darn it stop being unavailable TF2
Nevermind it's all games for me bah restarting steam

Extremely doubtful. It was stated in the past when it was first announced for Source engine games that TF2 would be last.
A bit off-topic, but I wonder if the possible Poker Night 2 isn't actually about Poker?
It seems like a very odd collection of characters (Sam and a Portal character seem like no-brainers, but Ash? Brock? How are they relevant to videogames?) for what would essentially just be the same game.
Sure, they might not be playing Texas Hold 'em, but any card game would make it feel like pretty much the same thing again.
and, if there was another, untitled "At The Inventory" game happening, it makes sense if it was just dubbed "Poker Night 2" for simplicity's sake.
I'd buy the idea that this random assortment would be in the game if they were part of a larger cast of characters, instead of the only ones.
Maybe they are testing the waters for future Evil Dead/Venture Bros games? Heavy and Tycho were at least relevant because they were video game related characters but I definetely agree that the character choice for Poker Night 2 is bizzare.
So... would I still get a soundtrack box if I ordered the Portal 2 soundtrack now?

Well, there are evil dead games. None of which are for PC to my knowledge, but they were still pretty good ones. My personal favorites are Fistful of Boomstick and Regeneration.

heres a great service and a deep api please integrate it into all your apps
*kills it off half a year after launch*
Then you have Valve that still puts out patches for Half-Life 1.

So close, we can taste the terrible hats.

Then watch as it either stops just after tier 2 or comes short to get tier 3 with X-COM.
What a shame, i only wanted the game.

I don't think Valve is in mood for another ARG. Remember MvM ARG? "Oh wow guys, you solved it so fast! We are so proud of you! DO YOU EVEN REALIZE HOW LONG IT TAKES TO PUT IT ALL TOGETHER? GO FUCK YOUR RESPECTIVE SELVES."
But really, we're too good
