With real Wheatley's 280 phrases (actually, only around 130 are really used in game) this is pure gambling. But I don't think you're that unlucky :o
It really is most noticeable when you're being shot at, but there definitely is a pulsing of the brightness and movement of the eyelids. Yea, mine doesn't do any of that, it's completely static. Hmm...
What if Valve did a Troll-move and included "hidden qualities" in the wheatley cores, and that's why some people's behave differently? Massive outrage probably.
On some servers ive gotten my Ap Sap to animate but very rarely.
When I was messing around with my Ap-Sap on Walkway yesterday Wheatley was very enthusiastic with his eye animations and glowing.

You know, the Bioshock promos are growing on me, shame they don't really show themselves much as "Bioshock". But the Sniper's hat is still awful, and the doll... is strange, it get swung around way too much by the Sniper's arm movements.

Strangely enough, the Ap-Sap doesn't seem to have any animations showing up in the Source SDK model viewer. It also doesn't have any immediatly apparent jigglebones, or any flexes to move the lids, and no options to change anything related to the model itself. So, does that mean that the pulsing eye and the lids moving are coded directly into the game? EDIT: I also checked to see if there were any .vcd files attributed to the Sapper. Nothing. EDIT2: There are also two new attributes specifically for the Ap-Sap: [CODE] "attributes" { "sapper voice pak" { "attribute_class" "sapper_voice_pak" "value" "1.0" } "sapper voice pak idle wait" { "attribute_class" "sapper_voice_pak_idle_wait" "value" "3.0" } } } [/CODE]

I just downloaded what was apparently the Meet the Medic map in Garry's mod. Am I the only one who gets incredibly scared being in some TF2 maps alone? There's just something so eerie about it, particularly special maps.

It's more the fact that even in things like Garry's Mod, I actually prefer that small things occasionally walk into frame or get in the way in some other manner. Makes me feel like I'm working on a real set when I have to plan a scene for traffic or for inconsistent lighting, or for groups of NPCs that wander about. I never even disable hostile NPC targeting, making stealth key. Empty maps are meh. It's nice to have a canvas sometimes, but I love it when things are organic, and things turn out more interesting as a result. Feels less staged.
