You can't open up a ton of steam accounts if you do it on a verified credit card attached paypal acct i dont think. [editline]6th November 2011[/editline] I've gotten 2 crate 30's in 2 weeks of idling on 135 accts. sold them both for 4 keys 1 rec. [editline]6th November 2011[/editline] How many accounts do you guys idle at one time? Right now i do 16 at a time but 2-4 will sometimes have no weapons on them after 12 hrs of idling wtf causes that?
It may look complicated, but it's very easy. For those who prefer using 1 bat file to launch 1 account at a time, without using a batch to start multiple, use this: Alter the above to your needs and save it in a txt file and save it to *.bat. Like I said. With the batch line above, you can launch 1 account at a time, instead of a bunch. I prefer to keep control account which to launch first.
You lost me at bat file.
Just wondering why u run accounts 14 hrs a day instead of the 11 hrs wiki says weapons only drop 11 hrs worth of idling i take it thats wrong?
Just wondering why u run accounts 14 hrs a day instead of the 11 hrs wiki says weapons only drop 11 hrs worth of idling i take it thats wrong?
Random chance.
I've got a problem. I run the batch file: start "C:\Program Files\Sandboxie\Start.exe" /box:idle1 c:\steam_idle\idle1.bat, and I get an error "Invalid Switch - /box:idle1" I looked around, and noone else seems to be having this problem. Can anyone help?
If you down know howto use steam api or open steamworks, you can still semi-automate item dumping or registering users using Sikuli The power of 99,999 brainless monkeys :D
Tried using this, as soon as Sanboxie started, my PC BSOD'd on me. Wonderful.
So i tried idleing for 14 hours instead of normal 12 i got 13-14 items instead of my normal 9-11 on almost all 15 idlning at once gonna go with 14 for now on.
Big thanks to the author of this thread and everyone else contributing to it. Managed to get a great haul of over 200 Halloween items including more than a full set of every haunted quality costume. http://tf2b.com/?id=srredfire Muy bien. Now to make the rest of those accounts premium somehow with those stupid payment restrictions...

I need to find out how much Haunted items go for so I can try to buy some off of you now :V

I added you to friends.
Would using multiple Paysafecards on the same IP for my many idle accounts make Steam suspicious? Since I would need to top up 5€ per account, and the paysafecards minimum is 10€ I could use one card for every two accounts. Let's say I have 6 Idle accounts, I would buy three paysafecards with 10€ each on them and put 5€ on each of the 6 idle accounts. [editline]7th November 2011[/editline] sounds safer to me than using the same Paypal account every time over a short amount of time. :v: or am I missing something here??

I will rape next years Halloween event to death.

As far as the IP adress is concerned I'm not sure how Valve would justify any action against activating some TF2 accounts just because they're on the same IP adress. With the two I just activated I could just claim that I'm living here with my brother and sister and they wanted to get into TF2 too. In your case I guess just claim you were having a little LAN party with your friends and they enjoyed TF2 so much that they just had to get some premium accounts! :edit: on that note, do newly created premium accounts already get items drops or do I have to wait until the system resets before I see some stuff drop on those two accounts? 60mins here and drop on either of them :-/
I had the same idea with the Paysafe cards and so far it worked just fine for 2 accounts, which is from what I learned in this thread the appropriate number of accounts per payment method.
But the Paysafecard method is a method where you use a new card/code after every second account. So what would stop you from making more than two premium accounts using another paysafecard? It's not bound to any account or email is it? The only factor I could see causing a problem would be the IP.

I just selected the PaySafe card method and then was redirected to the paysafe website where I entered the PIN from the card and confirm that's it. Maybe if you get a 50 euro paysafe card and make 10 accounts with it within a few minutes from the same IP something might be suspicous ? But 5 10 euro cards with an IP reset after each card should be no problem. Can't wait for the next sale to use the keys and metal from those two accounts I got for some game(s) :)
It seems each payment type is limited to 2 accounts. So for instance you could do 2 accounts with a credit/debit card, 2 accounts with PayPal, 2 accounts with etc etc. Kind of a pain in the ass, I don't see the big deal. They get my money either way, just makes it harder on our end.

It's a new card/code on every two accounts. And those cards/codes are not bound to my email or anything. If they would detect it via IP I could just run my Idle account through a VPN for the duration of making it a premium account. (again using an entirely different paysafecard which can't possibly be backtraced to me or my main account) [editline]9th November 2011[/editline] I've heard these horror stories that steam frowns upon the use of VPN's in the context of playing games before they are released in your region though Still the worst that would happen is the Idle account is banned or blocked from buying something in the TF2 in-game store
I don't know about Paysafecard. I've had no experience with them so I cannot say. At least here in the US, there's VISA Gift cards which act just like a debit card. You can buy them in stores and put whatever amount you want on them. Best idea if you're willing to spend cash on extra farming accounts, is to find one you can put $10 on or the lowest you can. That way you can buy two accounts, and spend whatever else on keys. Over time it's pretty easy to make your money back, even with one account if you're a smart trader.
The answer to many questions is already explicity stated on Steam: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8360-WEJC-2625#giftcard "Can I use a gift card or virtual card? It is possible to order through Steam with a gift card from one of the credit card issuers listed above, however, the card needs to be one that can be used to make online purchases and we require that the address information and security code for the card be an exact match to the gift card or virtual card issuer's system. We recommend that you inquire with the card issuer to ensure you can use the card to make online purchases and have the correct address and security code to complete the transaction. In some cases you can register your billing address through the gift card company's website."
At least here in the US, there's VISA Gift cards which act just like a debit card. You can buy them in stores and put whatever amount you want on them. Thus $14.95 for 2 accounts ($7.48 per) VS. $33.95 for 6 accounts ($5.66 per) [becoz the $15 x 3 left on each card unused is still your cash? put it in your gas tank, etc]
That's true. That works too. I just figure if you get one card with 10 dollars on it, you can use both "uses" to make accounts on it. I suppose it depends how you want to use your cash and how many accounts you plan to make. Your points are just as valid!
Hey guys, I just registered to see if you guys could help me. These launch parameters have failed me after three months of use: -textmode -novid -nosound -noipx -nojoy -nopreload -sw -width 640 -height 480 +map "itemtest" Specifically, I'm getting these errors: So those of you who are still idling successfully, what parameters are you using?
So, eh, what's the deal? Is it likely that I accidentally wrote "program" rather than "program files"? I just spent hours on this and this is pretty disappointing. This was just attempting to run a single account, but I get the same error individually for the other 2 I've tried.
I've been successfully idling with 5 accounts for approximately 3 months now, but all of a sudden sandboxie has started saying "out of memory" on all but one of those accounts, no matter if i have something else running or not. I've tried reinstalling sandboxie multiple times. I tried recreating the sandboxes, but nothing helped. My hardware has not changed in any way since the last successful idle. So does anyone else have this issue, or can someone think of any way to fix this?
those are errors you can ignore. Just wait until it finally says "x connected"
Well the errors come after the "x connected" so I assumed that was bad. I'll try leaving them in that state for awhile to see if I still get drops.
