Advanced Mann-Conomy: How to idle with multiple accounts
Nooch. I do wish to know, how do you post the status of the current drops onto the group?
<3 from admirer.
I posted about this previously too. For about 10 weeks, from Dec 2009 to March 2010, i was on a quest for all 36 hats. Each day i checked my 12 computers, added up all the drops, then went to the Steam group and typed a historical note for anyone curious about the original drop system. Once I had all 36 hats (ie after 73 days) i stopped playing TF2 until the Mannconomy hit in Oct 2010.

I don't add those comments anymore considering my Army has grown from 12 to 265. I do plan to do something with "http://steamcommunity.com/id/nooch###/inventoryhistory/" URL. Starting september 2011 99.9% of all drops have been traded 1st to my "noochbot" account. so, maybe christmas break i'll do something with that data.

You did?
Anyway was just wondering since someone posted that it was reported automatically every time an account got a hat.
On another note.
I am trying to make an actual program for setup and idle.
Would be really nice in my opinion and I can ditch the .bat scripts. Don't expect it to soon since I have to move and I also have a job and whatnot now.
If anyone has any suggestions for the program please post it. I've already got a setup script in .bat form. So far it is turning out pretty nice.
I don't trade, so i don't care about craft numbers. Just want 1 of every item. (but, when i do need to trade (ie. damn haunted scottish snarl) i have plenty of booty)
yet, i have considered trying to craft 1 of every hat so all my hats say "crafted by noochbot". haven't seen anyone else do that yet?
I have not seen that done before, that sounds like a really cool goal.
Also, I'm sure the world thanks you for not trading, otherwise you would have everything.

Don't forget to disable steam overlay on your idling accounts for a slight performance boost.

This is my parameter list too:
I do this, without the idle.cfg and replay_enable 0 and get anywhere from 300 mb to 700 mb.
What's in the idle.cfg?

I find that I get lower mem usuage when not running in textmode oddly. so through task manager I can end the steam overlay?
Oh, I customized my idle.cfg a little bit. Not sure if it does make a difference at all. But it's in there.

Just try it out.
Also with the GUI program I am making it might not be done until January since I have to teach myself Visual Basics and memorize all the parameters.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

It might not use more RAM but it will use more GPU usage.
Alright just checked my other computer and TF2 was running at 150mbs each!
New record for me :)
I still get the Cannot open blob archive file error when I try open the Steam second time with sandboxie.

Have you created a different steam folder for each account?
Most of the time people are trying to run steam off of 1 folder and not separate ones.

Same. But weird, it worked some weeks ago.
O well I'll do that now.
So I only have to copy Steam + Steamapps with tf2 inside new folder?

Copy steam.exe from one folder into the next and then run it. It will download all the files needed to run steam. Once that is done you will have to mklink everything again.

Do I have to install tf2 from the new steam?
Do I have to install tf2 from the new steam?
No, that is where the mklink method comes into use.
It creates a "shortcut" that steam thinks is the actual folder.
So you should be able to link the folder that you made for ONLY the idle tf2.
The TF2 update today broke my Sandboxie idlers, giving blob errors if I try to load second account, when I am doing everything exactly the same.
Dramatically improved the dynamic model loading system's memory usage, performance, and stability
Reduced memory usage on systems running Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7
If I was to take a complete guess, I'd say their "memory improvements" is just from them constantly reading uncommon stuff from the GCF instead of caching it into memory.

Tried deleting clientregistry.blob?
I normally reinstall it all after every update. So I will have to see.

Yes I have. My friend also gets the same issue now.
Yes I have. My friend also gets the same issue now.
It's working for me and my friend so far.
You have set up the folders correctly, right?
I deleted my blob, started Steam, exited Steam then deleted blob again. Did this 5 times in a row and now it finally works. Steam's such a nice program.
This new update is pretty cool stuff, unless textmode TF2 was always this light. Never really bothered checking on how much memory it ate up until this update made me curious about it.

What are your launch options other than -textmode? I can get nowhere near that low.

I'm just using the settings for the .bat file that the OP listed.
Edit: Tried to launch another idle account to see if this was just one of those "too good to be true" things.
It was weird... started out at 150k then gradually went down to 17k in around an hour or 45 mins.

Oh wow, i'm only getting down to about 100 on the new update. Very nice.
I should have a "alpha" of my program out by next week. It won't have many features just a new design.
Contact me if you want to test it for me.
I can never go that low in textmode. I only seem to go that low (or lower, yes 12,000) when I run it normally with it just minimized. also yes the new alt-tabbing is absolutely amazing.

When it is minimized the system doesn't put as many resources into it.
So best thing to do is minimize all of the idles when they are launched.
Also guys tell me if you like this layout?

I'll have a much better background I made in it soon.
I can't get the entire script into the .exe because you wouldn't be able to customize it.
I will find out a way to do it soon but. I might have this out in 24 hours if someone wants to test it for me :s
Also does anyone want more then 8 account support?
Also does anyone want more then 8 account support?
Pick me. You could do it in groups, possibly. Like it's on Group 1, and it deals with accounts #1-8, and then when you click on the Group 2 button, it switches to #9-16.
And 'Idle All Accounts' would only apply to the accounts that are in the currently selected group

Adding to new version. I will roll out the program in a minute. Just changing some stuff around.
Do you want that option in the main menu or in the screenshottered menu?
Download it here
Have fun!
2 bugs found so far -
You will need to click login on each of the buttons to login at this point.
In a few of the .bats you will need to replace the sandboxie line with C:\"Program Files"\Sandboxie\Start.exe

That is the new layout. I can make the groups a menu bar instead. It is no problem.
Is "Exit" exit that program, or exit and log off of all of the steam accounts?
Is "Exit" exit that program, or exit and log off of all of the steam accounts?
Exit the program. I am adding a update button to it.

That is the background image for the program. Is that okay?
Edit:
I've decided to add a few more features to the script. Sorry the inconvenience. Just fixing a few bugs that I don't think anyone has noticed just yet. Release should be within 15 hours.

Read the readme.
It's also explained if you look around a bit :P
Problem fixed (Hopefully) Thanks to Eigengrau for helping me out.
You will need to download Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 to run this.
Fail on my behalf, this is my first application.
