Advanced Mann-Conomy: How to idle with multiple accounts
It's curious, regarding the premium vs free accounts drop rate.
During a 12hr period, tested on 20 premiums and 20 f2p accounts:
- premium got 10 items (+ boxes, some hats)
- free got 13 items (+ tags, boxes, colors)
I'm definitely going with f2p accounts for the moment, since they grab more loot.
I mean:
3 hats vs 10 name tags
Any winners? Name tags pls...
Yeah i tried this. Almost every account get salvaged crate from 5 weeks of idling.
i am having trouble with trading between the accounts when i use the sandboxie account my steam trade is blank and the regular one says steam community error

Closee all accounts, then delete the winui.gfc (located on steamapps folder), steam will redownload it. If the problem persists after that, run a search on your Steam folder and delete all instances of friendsUI.dll.
Other solution is just restarting Steam, trade will work but that won't solve the problem for good.
Looking for nice item manager, coz last one not working anymore after few patches.
Could you help me? I have sandboxie(registered). I get an error. You can make video for idle guide? Sorry, i don't know english. Thanks you.

So I want to look at means of making my idling slightly more efficient. My instances still take up a fair amount. Here's what I use now (no configs, just this). Any suggestions on what I should add or do?
Steam.exe -login XXXXX XXXXXX -applaunch 440 -textmode -novid -nosound +sv_pure 0 +sv_lan 0 +map "itemtest" +mp_timelimit 0 +sv_password XXXXXX +sv_pure_kick_clients 0 +sv_cheats 0 -maxplayers 2 -nopreload -noipx
X's replace personal info, obviously. :v: beyond that, what else should I add to make this eat less resources?
You're using +map, that means each account will also create a server and that's bad. You need to setup just one account to act as a server and use +connect ip on the other accounts.

I never could get port forwarding to work right. I shall try again though.
Another thing. If I did set this up--I don't run on the stablest internet connection (occasionally it drops). But if I set each up to be a server, it always will reconnect and continue giving drops after said internet connection drops. If my other clients drop, will they auto-reconnect or no? (if not can I put the occasional retry command in there somehow?)
Connect to your server using the local IP, not the internet IP.
even without +map and adding +connect it still tries to start a dedicated server, cant seem to run beyond 15 of them =\
Here's my idle sequence
start /low D:\Idler\001\Steam.exe -login xxxxx yyyyy -applaunch 440 -dxlevel 81 -nohltv -useforcedmparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd -textmode -novid -nosound -noipx -nojoy -nopreload -sw -width 640 -height 450 +exec idle.cfg +password xxxx +connect zzz.xxx.nnn.qqq

In the pic, there are 13 accs, in vmware:
- all running in sandboxie;
- connected to a dedicated server (+sourcemod and some plugins), hosted on same vmware image;
- all minimized to taskbar, no visible windows (take more resources if windows considers them as active priority);
- dedicated server rotates only one map, with suicide waypoints activated (idle friendly);
- startup time: 3min tops;
- sharing a common steamapps folder as per the original tutorial
Average run time 12-15 hrs / day with a 3.09 GB of memory used constantly.
Let me know if this helped you out...
P.S. Idle.cfg was also posted in this thread somewhere on page 5-6, dunno exactly. You can also find it via google search.

I like the look of this. I've spent most of today playing around with settings but I can't drop any of the accounts Memory usage below 200Mb. Would you mind telling me EVERYTHING either here so others can profit off of it, or in a PM so there's more room in the thread.
EDIT: Especially the dedicated server part
EDIT2: Looks like I managed to get the dedicated server thing to run after all. Now lets hope I can have low CPU usage like you.

It looks great, but I do not understand that much of the part of vmware, and dedicated server, could you pass me some tutorial or something?, Also can you tell me where I do that or lower for dedicated server?,
I would greatly appreciate it ;)
How you guys are handling all the new junk?
How you guys are handling all the new junk?
same way i'm handling all the old junk - move it all to one account or transfer anything of value to my main

At least the old junk is craftable, those goldfishes and bananas still have no use =\
At least the old junk is craftable, those goldfishes and bananas still have no use =\
yeah. i'm just letting them collect up for now - if it gets to the point where I'm running out of space for decent drops i'll start deleting them but there's no need for that yet.
if we're lucky they will become craftable into something useful later and so it's not worth deleting them already, especially if you've still got free slots.
How you guys are handling all the new junk?
I don't want to get rid of any of it, so I am using it as a good excuse to buy a backpack expander and a new idle account!
How you guys are handling all the new junk?
I have all the crates on my 1st alt and all the junk on my 2nd account. I've also moved 1 of each junk item to my main account as a collection, only missing the book.
How you guys are handling all the new junk?
1000 bp for new shit, 7 accounts for crates.
Still trading some of mine 2011'reg premium acc's for 2 keys each.
Thanks for the instructions - Hopefully they're still up to date... I followed them to the letter and set up 8 idling accounts (PC is easily powerful enough to handle it) but whenever I try to fire up TF2 in a sandbox I get the following error from Sandboxie:
SBIE2305 Out of memory
(error appears twice, and pops up just after the "connecting to account" message would normally disappear when Steam logs in).
Using Sandboxie x64, v3.44.
Using Avast antivirus. When I disable Avast and try to launch Steam in a sandbox, I get http://puu.sh/DkjJ
Any ideas?

It's much easier to store unneeded stuff (crates...etc) all in an extra premium account. It's also a big advantage to have a central idle account tied to all other idle accounts that handles all metal crafting and weapon storage.
You could create a new steam account that you never play tf2 in, to store all your items.
All the items you trade to a F2P account can be traded back and if you don't play, the items never disappear and you have unlimited storage.

Yeah when my idle session is done. I use alfie1 to trade all the items to, then craft them all there and send the metal and excess weapons to my main account.

What exactly am I doing wrong here? All the paths are exactly word for word. (E: is my external drive)
Try to change to the folder first then use the command, I don't think it'll work that way
Try to change to the folder first then use the command, I don't think it'll work that way
This worked, many thanks!
Sheesh, been a while since I've messed about with command prompt
SBIE2305 Out of memory
Updated to the latest Sandboxie (3.72 at time of writing) and it seems to be working fine now!
Greets all - I find that often when trying to run an idle account, I get the error 'This game is currently unavailable'.
I am also getting messages when trying to open multiple accounts at once that there's not enough memory - even though my computer could easily handle the load before. Did they change something in the game to make them take more memory? I'm up to date with Sandboxie.
