Advanced Mann-Conomy: How to idle with multiple accounts
Yeah, or with a proxy.
2. The bad news: I have to host the proxy. And I have put in some time into this. So from now on i'll take 3 REF for 1 activated account. It's still pretty easy to get them back, if you idle actively.
And I have work until 16:00 GMT, so available only after that time.
If you decide that you need this actvivation - feel free to add me, we'll work smth out.
Cheers!
what crack have u been smoking? 3 ref per acc when people can do this alone.
guys just search for free vpn on google, find american ip connect with steam and buy items. 3 ref fucking ripoff
I really think it's no big deal paying 5 dollars for TF2 premium. There's always new $5 items that are worth 3 keys.

Yeah, but that qiwi wallet thing requires a russian bank account
Oh wow i just discovered this thread :)
I didn't realise there where so many people using this same idle system - heres me thinking i invented this haha
A little Introduction
So basically i've been idling "professionally" for quite some months now, so far i have 45 premium idle accounts, including 2 warehouse accounts (1000 spaces each).
I've written my own custom application to handle launching steam / idling / adding new idle accounts to my system and managing their backpacks (with a little help from Jengerers Item Manager. it also handles steam updates (You manually update your master steam folder then run the update from my farm control which pushes the updated files to each individual steamfolder for the idle accounts.

I idle 9 accounts at a time (9 accounts = 1 cluster as per my farm control)
Using full version of sandboxie (ofc) with the following launch options for launching tf2 into idle mode:
-login [USERNAME] [PASSWORD] -applaunch 440 -textmode -novid -nosound -nojoy -nopreload -sw +map Itemtest
Now onto my problem
Thursday night i idled cluster 1 as per my usual schedule which gave the usual results, 9-12 items per account, no problems. Friday night i idled cluster 2, same as normal, which resulted in 0 items on all 9 accounts, i figured maybe just a glitch, or maybe i lost connection or whatever might have happened, saturday i attempted to idle cluster 3 - same results as cluster 2, 0 item drops...
So with process of elimination im trying to work out if its a problem with my local farm settings or something valve have done to maybe stop us farmers from tending to our crops? (lol)
Any help appreciated

I've been smoking only the best crack my ripoff-ref can get me. It's just AMAZING!!
And yeah, have you dealt with Russian vpn/proxy servers? It's not really Europe here, buddy! It's the fucking medieval times, internet-wise. BTW, it's not that i'm charging 3 Ref for a proxy, it's for a premium account.
Anyway, if you prefer to give 5 bucks for 1 account - go ahead, no one is stopping you. 3 Ref is just 3-4 weeks of waiting. Reg an account, wait a month, activate for 3 ref end enjoy your prem. If that's too much hassle - find your own damn method.
And yeah, if there are people doing what I'm offering, but for a lower price - let me know, i'll change my prices. it's just that the only alternative, I've seen so far is this: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/activationTF2/announcements/detail/1587763461151188184 Guys are charging much more than me, and you have to give out your passwords (and later on change them) and watch them do the activation process, which might be a little tedious if you've got many accs. And their google-translate english is not very helpful.
I think I'm done here. If anyone else thinks 3 ref is too much - go ahead and start your own activation business. With blackjack and hookers... for 2 scrap. Heck, I'll use your services myself!

You're right, if we're talking about 1-2.. maybe 5 accounts. But if you have to activate like 20 of them, it might be a pain in the ass to come up with a 100 bucks. And 3 ref is like a random craft hat. Every time you craft something random out of 3 refined, just think that instead it could have turned one of your idlers into premium. But that's just a thought.
To tell you the truth, i activated my first accs with 5-dollar payments, and i don't regret it. Keys are a fun and useful thing. But now I would have preferred to activate with items/metal/keys. They are not even real, whereas 5 bucks are :)

Your program looks neat! Can you tell me - does it add accounts from the same cluster to 1 local server or does every account start a listen server of its own? It would be awesome if you told us more about your application. Looks simple and useful.
To your problem - I've had some troubles with drops during and after the update. But around saturday night (moscow time) items started dropping at a normal rate. So there probably was a problem on valve's side. And it resolved itself, cause I didn't change any settings.
Don't know if it is your case though.
Good luck!

Thanks for the reply
At the moment each idle account starts its own local server (+map Itemtest) *edit* also working on a public version i may be tempted to release given enough interest from the community
Im currently working on having it launch a single dedicated local server and have each account connect to that server .
Its strange because i got normal drops on the night of the update (thursday night) but friday and saturday, also last night i got 0 drops from my clusters.

A russian pro-idler created a script called The Rotator some time ago. There have been several releases of it. Here's the homepage of the script: http://starokashirka.ru/rotator/
What it does is - it creates a local server. connects accounts to it. they all join teams, chose classes and run around shooting each other. It also allows certain clusters of bots to join and disconnect on a timer. Say at 00:00 a server starts with 10x10 (20 accs), at 12:00 they all disconnect and a new batch of 10x10 accounts is sent to the server. Thus if you have a good PC and some idle time on it, you can farm loads of accounts. And the script sends auto "retry" messages from bots, as far as I know. so you can be sure your farm works while you're away.
I'll be true - i've never used this software. My 15 accounts can be farmed manually easy enough.
But the guy who created it is available and always happy to answer questions. Many have asked him to make a gui for the script, so it's more user-friendly. But he always says smth like "i personally don't need the GUI. If you do - make it yourself, i'll be happy to answer any questions regarding how the script works". So if you want to tinker with it and have some questions - fire away, i'll get in touch with this fella. I dunno if he speaks english... If he does, you can probably contact him directly. If not, i'd be willing to give a translating hand.
Anyway, it's a great idea that saves resources. And makes the farm look almost legit (you have CLASS TIME on these accounts). If you feel you have the time to incorporate some of the mechanics in your program and make it public, it would be just awesome!
PM me if you need my further contacts.
Cheers!

I'm very interested in this, looking to upgrade my farm from 30 to 100 accounts. Do you think you could give me a step-by-step ENGLISH tutorial?
I've been having trouble with this, if anyone is still reading this thread.
I am getting the access error message when using steam in my alternate subdirectory, an error that is usually followed by the suggestion to enable ADMIN privileges when running steam, (runas admin) This does not work. What does work, is using my main directory of steam to run my alt. I thought this would have caused resource issues/multiple write issues. I'd like to use my alternate folder for steam idling.
I have followed the procedure in this thread from the first post.
I'd appreciate suggestions.
Has anyone got a good way to make lots of premium accounts?
I've been running my main and 10 idle accounts, made some with my CC, my PayPal.
Made the rest with fake PayPal accounts but now I get locked out from making PayPal accounts
Only option I see is buying the Orange Box cheap, or buying $20 steam wallet codes.
I'd rather buy the $5 steam wallet codes than buy 2 keys etc.
Although I guess $20 steam wallet code is 8 keys, half the original cash back instantly.

I have not used the script personally. But I see the russian idling community use it actively. So it works - i can tell you that. I might try it during the coming weekend. If it turns out to be simple and stable - i will try to write an instruction with screenshots. But can't really promise anything now. I'm really new to scripting and all that, so I might not be that easy to get it working. But I have faith :)

I've wrote about the qiwi activation I can provide. It's 3 ref per account. But you get only the cheapest weapon in game.
BTW, I didn't really understand why $20 is half your cash back instantly? like 8 keys = Bill's Hat = $10? Or am I missing something?

Did you try copying the contents of the original folder to the alternative once more? It helped me once.
I'd definitely consider your offer Alkofront.
Have been buying Orange Box keys for around 8USD. Your way works out to be around 2USD.
Although instead of ref would you consider USD via PayPal, otherwise I'd just have to buy the ref anyways.
And yeah, 8 keys x $1.35ish = around 11USD, so only costing 9USD in the end.
Another thing, would make things A LOT easier.
If say you make a fake email for this purpose, then you sell me the accounts with premium and all details, I take over said accounts.
Saves a lot of hassle with hamachi etc, but more work for you I guess. Just an option :)

Yeah, I've considered making just "ready-to-use" accounts. It really takes some time though. And as far as I know, valve is not really happy with people selling accounts. Whereas with the activation through hamachi/proxy you're just "on the edge". And new premium accs don't work for people who already have loads of ref on their old idle f2p accounts.
But do PM me how many accounts you need and when you need them. I just understood that I can do this from work. Fuckyeah! (pardon my french).
And another thing - if my CC is associated with my PP account, can I have the PP funds transferred to my CC? Sorry for this noobish question, but i haven't had much experience with this system. If not, we'll figure out a way to put your PP money to use without all that ref-buying ;) So, PM me anyway!
Yeah you need a bank account linked too, then you can withdraw from your PayPal to your bank account.
Or even if I make the accounts, then pass you the info, you buy an item making it premium. I pay you for doing so.
Saves the whole hamachi thing?
But is your payment method limited to only 2 accounts? For eg I can only use the same PayPal account on two steam accounts, can only use my CC on steam accounts etc. How many times have you used your method of adding 15 roubles?

I've upgraded all 45 of my accounts to premium by using the same paypal account
i've paid for it with money in my paypal i've earned by selling my items for cash - it took a while but in effect it got me 45 accounts for "free"
I've been upgrading them the normal way, add £4 to your steam wallet, buy some stuff from the store = get premium
then i sell the stuff from the store for paypal
repeat and so on

I've heard that people have trouble with activating multiple accounts via PP. There's no problem with qiwi, however. I've already activated like 30-40 accounts with the 15 rouble method. All of them work fine, qiwi wallet works fine. So, as far as i can see, there's no account limit to this method.

What kind of items did you farm that you were able to sell for cash??
And how did you sell them for cash? (like "send me the cash via paypal and I'll trade you the items, I promise" or "I'll trade you the items if you promise to send me the cash via paypal")
I'd be afraid of getting ripped off and wouldn't blame the other guy of being afraid that I'll rip him off.
There's forums dedicated to trading TF2 related stuff, just have to start selling off small things to build up reputation.

Get my PM Alkofront? :)
u should to know some details about his solution (activation by qiwi).
u'll need to activate their accounts through a proxy, because it will fill up their russian money.
if he activates ur accounts from russia, and then give u a password and email.
Valve can block your account for the fact that the activation was one of the country, and you use from another.
Not really, many people use their steam account in different countries, and sometimes they attempt to buy a game at that location.
What happens then? In most cases the game will be region locked, and can not be played.

I see your point. But proxy activation or vpn activation is basically "activation from another country". From Valve's point of view. So there's not really much difference between a proxy activation and a manual activation from my russian PC. The important thing here, as i see it, is that a person doesn't have to give out his password. It makes the process a little more cultured and safe in my opinion. And it's easier for me :)
--upd--
You are deffinetely right!
Here's some of the steam user agreement:
You may not reveal, share or otherwise allow others to use your password or Account. You agree that you are personally responsible for the use of your password and Account and for all of the communication and activity on Steam that results from use of your login name and password. You may not sell or charge others for the right to use your Account, or otherwise transfer your Account.
So creating accounts, making them premium and selling of even giving them away is not ok. Yet I couldn't find anything about limiting a user to one single currency per account.
-upd-
Seems that using a proxy for region alternation is a sure way to get banned permanently. Even though there's no direct information about that in the Agreement. At least I couldn't find it in the original text. But there are some forum posts on the net about people getting banned for buying games in russia and gifting them (in exchange for paypal) to someone in the EU/US. But those issues had to deal with pricing policies. Like a game in russian steam cost less than the same game in the US. You don't get that with tf2 items cause 15 roubles is exactly 40 cents. But still, if Valve find out - the account is probably screwed.
Yet multi accounting is not that popular with "the man" as well. But i don't see idlers getting banned, so it's probably almost ok. So from now on my disclaimer reads: I HAVE NO WAY OF PROTECTING YOUR ACCOUNT. IF IT GETS BANNED DUE TO VIOLATION OF THE SSA, I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT. NO REFUNDS. Sorry if it sounds harsh, but I'm risking my ass as well here. And there is actually no one who can guarantee you the safety of your account. So, think twice before you decide to spend that ref.
I sure hope no one gets banned though. It would break my heart.
No item drops here after 4 hours. Zero.
People in SPUF are reporting it too. Seems the item servers did it again.
I got 1 drop in 8-9 hours.
So not just me?

Ever since the pyro update i've had very un-reliable drop rates, i've had a full cluster (9 accounts) idled on one night and return ZERO items, yet last night i had 5 accounts give me 8-10 items average, 3 accounts give me zero items and one account give me 25 items (25 WEAPONS, not including crates + ash drops) - this is very strange
*note* each idle session lasts no less than 9 hours

Do you make realistic breaks? (Let one group idle for x Hours, then switch and let the others Idle and so on)
