• Advanced Mann-Conomy: How to idle with multiple accounts
    2,129 replies, posted
Started Idling with my main account on a normal Idle Server and with 2 new premium accounts using TF2Idle. With my account I got 12 items during this night (9h) and with the others I got 4/5 items each (12h). So...something is going wrong. I don't think I did something wrong but probably valve is blocking something... Ideas?
As I said, something changed in the drop system, it doesn't reset at 00:00am PST now for most accounts
It seems to reset at 8am UK time now.
If anyone wants to add me and help me out it'd be great. I can't figure out how to set this up. http://steamcommunity.com/id/victormartelle/
Computer 1 is idling 22 tf2 accounts computer 2 is idling 16 check the inventory 14 hours later and computer 1's 22 accounts has 1-4 items whereas computer 2 16 has 12-14 weapon drops on each of the 16...Is there a certain amount you can idle on 1 dsl line or something because thats weird.
Im having some trouble with sandboxie, First I had the version 3.72 installed (trial version) I uninstalled and tried to install the 3.62 (full) but it doesn't work in x64 So I re-installed the 3.72 (full at this time) but it wasn't loading at all... Can someone help me ? Maybe send me an PM...
Is there a batch command to launch one sandboxed TF2 per minute? Lauching multiple instances simultaneouly stress the HD a lot.
Need someone setting this up...
So, both of my accounts are in Idle, why the memory consumption is high like this? I am using this on the .bat file: -applaunch 440 -32bit -textmode +exec idle.cfg -single_core -nojoy -low -nosound -sw -width 640 -height 480 -noshader -nopix -novid -nopreload -replay_enable 0 +sv_password 1234 -sw +map itemtest +maxplayers 2 -heapsize 65536
Your idle string is fucked up, that's why :P
So, how can i fix it? using this in the set launch options? -textmode -nosound -noipx -novid -nopreload -nojoy -sw +sv_lan 1 +map "itemtest"
So um. Yea. Just got into this program. My ram is being dry anal'd. https://www.dropbox.com/s/tfyuxicyb6co4hi/2012-07-29%2006.49.28.jpg This is what I use to make it run in txt mode -textmode -novid -nosound -nojoy -nopreload -sw +map Itemtest I've read about having things run in dedicated server mode, but goddamn they just go beyond what I can comprehend. I was using source tools at one point today because I thought it had something to do with it. Lost. I. Am.

There is still something screwy with my launch options though, as TF2 still goes full screen and then goes into no vidmode. But it works for now. Make sure you have the idle.cfg file someone posted a few pages back. That should help too.
Its impossible to even idle, I don't understand how you people do this... I've been trying this for days and reading guides, watching vids, but it never works. I post on these forums and rarly someone replies speaking computer talk which I don't understand at all. Feel free to add me. http://steamcommunity.com/id/victormartelle/

I just re downloaded it but as was the case yesterday I don't know where to place it. Should I place it into the main folder of all the accounts or only one? Or does it go into the steamapps folder of each account?

The first account seems to connect just fine, although on my main account's window it doesn't say the account connected (the first account meant to connect to the main), which may or may not be meant to happen. The rest of the accounts just fail to connect. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. My IP is supposed to be ipv4 in cmd when I type in "ipconfig /all", right? Maybe that's what it is. Or maybe it isn't.

If you post the specific error you're having probably someone will help you.

Had some custom launch options in some the accounts from a few months back inside Steam properties. They were conflicting with launch options in tf2 idle. Thanks for the help. My RAM is no longer being dry anal'd. Just anal'd. https://www.dropbox.com/s/orapeeybc6mstgk/2012-07-29%2022.31.33.jpg Thanks for the help brohans.
When I terminate the gameoverlayui.exe, it drops my memory usage down a bit, but it's quite boring to terminate all of them one by one, so you just need to create a shortcut with this "command":
taskkill.exe /F /IM GameOverlayUI.exe /T
If you don't know how to create the shortcut, here you go: LINK
I'm now stuck on: (page 16 http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?...1#post36613624) "Next go to the Resource Access>File Access>Full Access, and add the root folder of the drive that contains Steam, and the drive which will contain all the sandbox files (If they are both on the same drive then you don't need to add it twice) Now, create more sandboxes, one for each account you will be idling with. With these, copy the settings from one of your previously made sandboxes so you don't need to go into the settings for each one. Giving them all simple names is strongly advised." In this sandboxie program thingy it says files 'pdfshell' and 'acrosbl' already in there? Anyways, I can't select the root steam folder because when I navigate to the steam folder, it wants a specific file. I click add program: local disk c > programs x86 > steam....am I supposed to stop at steam? Kinda confused >_< Can someone explain in easy step by step detail lol >_<

I find this very useful, beacuse sometimes gameoverlay eats even more memory than entire game process.
THE BATCH FILES AREN'T WORKING PROPERLY ANYMORE WITH STEAM WHEN TRYING TO CONNECT MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS SIMULTANEOUSLY TO A SERVER. Since the pyromania update, the accounts randomly are getting a BAD CHALLENGE error when trying to connect to a server. The only workaround is starting one account per time or opening the server browser to manually connect to the server. Both options are a huge pain in the ass. Is there a way to edit the batch files to run one account per minute?
Wow. Was using tf2idle...Loaded it up to find all my settings erased on it, just a blank program. What the...?

I never said it doesn't work, but the "bad challenge" error randomly occurs and I wasn't the first person to post about this problem. There must be a way to launch one account per minute via batch command, also Crinkly made a good question about TF2 stealing focus from other programs when launching, but it seems the idle techies abandoned this topic.

How come when I load up tf2idle, all my accounts and settings are gone?
