Advanced Mann-Conomy: How to idle with multiple accounts
Try deleting the tf2 folders of each of your account folders, I think.

because you are using more steamapps folders, one of them has updated tf2 and the rest does not

This bug usually happens when a account that's not idling starts to update TF2 when other accounts are idling, all having the steamapps folder shared.
First of all update TF2 in your main account (hopefully you don't have the steamapps folders of it shared). Then close all the sandboxies, and copy all the TF2-related files from your main steamapps folder to your shared steamapps folder. Just copy the .GCF files, you don't need to copy the subfolders.
Then run just one idle account to see if everything is ok. This should fix the problem.
Thanks guys, you're a big help.
Hey, just wondering if there is anyone here willing to help me out with the professor specs c:

what do you want to know about them? :D wiki pretty much says everything

I've been idling successfully for a long time but now it's always trying to update. Really sucks!
UPDATE: Re-read Gamblers post and think I have it all sorted out now. I'm launching all of my idle accounts via each individual batch file without using Sandboxie each time... one by one lol. Then to test I relaunch that same account using Sandboxie and it seems to be working.
UPDATE 2: Scratch that, after rebooting all my idle files are still trying to update. Any thoughts on how to fix this? I did this from page 1 of this thread and it's worked great for many months now....
Or if you didn't move steamapps:
cd C:\Idle\Steam1
mklink /D steamapps "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps"
If anyone could lend a hand here that would be super cool. Thank you very much in advance :)
so why do it need to validate everytime. bull shit. validated, restarted and keeps validating even when they been 100% completed!!

I've done this and it didn't work, still validates.
as a note, I actually uninstalled TF2 and reinstalled it (the main account + I never created a new directory, just used the defaul location) and still had a validation on one of 7 of my idle's. So strange!
Hi, are there any virtual visa card or of that sort that I can fill up with paypal and does not need a credit card to do so? Alternatively, is there any way of filling up a webmoney or qiwi wallet with money without a credit card?
Thank you for your time

Have you tried a prepaid Visa card?
Have you tried a prepaid Visa card?
Edit: nvm on the creating multiple accounts part and the webmoney and creating virtual credit card part, just looking for way to fill up QIWI wallet with paypal or a North American Credit card, particularly CIBC. Since the javascript add fund trick doesn't work under $5. Thanks

Did you really copy all the TF2-related files? Usually TF2 updates the GCFs of Team Fortress 2, Source and Multiplayer ob Binaries. Just check the time the files were updated and you won't miss it.
For those who don't have a separated steamapps folder to copy the files to the shared folder, unfortunatelly you'll have to uninstall TF2 and download it again. I don't know any other fix.
How can I make alts without eating hundreds of GB of harddrive space?
Does anyone have a good estimate of how much bandwidth each account uses if it were to idle over a 12 hour period? I currently idle 24 accounts, but am considering expanding to 32. At home my bandwidth usage isn't really a problem, but at my university they cap it at 60GB a month. I've been able to idle 24 accounts a week at my school for over month with no complaints from my university's IT department, but I'm concerned that going up to 32 a week will the breaking point. Anyone have an idea?
hay guys I'm getting this error with a few of my idle accounts. What is causing it? If someone can give me a helping hand that would be awesome!
Btw My main account is not having this problem. only like 4-5 out of the 8 idle accounts. Any folders that I need to move or delete? thanks.

I highly doubt it uses a lot of bandwidth, I imagine the most bandwidth usage will come from download tf2 upgrades.
I keep getting this error (trying to idle with 1 extra account):

I first start my idle account in SandBoxIE, but when I start my normal insteam instance, I get the error above.
It worked fine before, but now it won't. I removed the sandbox and made a new one, still no luck. Any ideas?
JoWannes, that's a pretty common error.
I could not find out yet how exactly to fix it. But try to terminate and delete sandbox contents of all accounts. Then first start the game and join with one account. Most of the time it works with the others then as well... you have to play around a bit!

ignore it and keep it running, you will still get your items.

ok thanks.
Hey guys.
I recently added four accounts to the few I have. And I encountered a problem with the new ones.
When I execute the idle.bat of any new account it doesn't open the textmode, but the actual game at first. Only after it's done loading it switches to the textmode. This is a little annoying and not really a big problem, but sometimes it gets stuck when loading and then the screen is completely black and there is seemingly no way to remove it without a reboot.
I have no idea what I did differently with the four new accounts, so I'd like to ask if anyone knows how to fix this problem.
A few pages back I saw that someone had the same problem, though, I can't find that past at the moment.

Thank you for the advice! It worked perfectly!

I just got this error with one account. Probably deleting the <accountname> folder from steamapps may fix it.
Another error I've been getting is "bad challenge" when trying to connect to a server. It happens randomly and started after the Pyromania update. Never found fix for that.

I'm also getting the bad challenge error, and I can't find a real solution nor a cause for it.
The only thing to do for now is restart the account but if you have any ideas on how to solve it feel free to say it.
I've hit a strange problem. My accounts are all linked to one steamapps folder but despite that, every time start TF2, the accounts always validate. I've validated the files in my main account (un-sandboxed) but it doesn't seems to fix it. I even tried to validate the files in each steam account while un-sandboxed, but again, it didn't work. Any suggestions?

I have same problem. Working on fix.
The validating files" problem is old and it has been already said many times that
Easy fix > Copy all the TF2 GCF files (source, tf2, multiplayer binaries, etc) from your main steamapps folder to your shared steamapps folder (that if your main steamapps folder didn't get the same problem)
or
Annoying fix > Uninstall and redownload TF2
It was always advised to NOT use your main steamapps folder with idle accounts and a separated steamapps folder should be created for sharing. It may save around 13GB but still not worth all the headache it may cause.
Thanks, I'll try that, haven't seen it before mainly as I haven't had much reason to worry about it before, so that should work. Also when I say "one steamapps folder" I mean that it's in my main idle account; mixing my gaming account with idling would be an absolute bloody nightmare.

It has actually solved the problem. Thank you very much.
Hello! I have a problem with running more than 1 idles. It says:
Couldn't allocate any server IP port
Of course adding "+hostport 270xx -nohltv" solves the problem, but WHY you guys don't have to change ports, and I must? Did I do something wrong?
