He gave me a screenshot: I asked him "his secret". He just gave me his launch parameters and idle.cfg. But it did not help me. I still have ~500 mb usage. Even If add another 8GB to my current memory I can't run 20 accounts.
then stop idling?
On my PC with 8gb ram each hl2.exe consumes around 200mb. On my notebook with 2gb ram, it goes from 20mb to 90mb. Both using exactly the same launch configuration. It seems the more ram you have, less virtual memory hl2.exe will use.
Hey there again idle-buddies. Something wrong with my idle after the halloween update. I know that you need to delete blob files or reinstall steam if it's validating tf2 files a lot, but i've tried almost everything, the last thing to do is reinstall tf2. And the weird thing is - every single one account validating files, reaches 100% and then i can run it. It's fine but... It takes too much time to set. Any advices?

Its always handy to keep a backup of your tf2 files so that you don't have to download the whole 10 gbs again and only the update. Are there any good autotrading programs out there for people with way too many accs? Moving all your items to one account takes too much time.

If you share your main and idle steamapps, no idea.
Posting in here again- I -still- can't connect to sandboxie.com, thus my paid version is treated as the free version. soo, any help with that?

Hey, I'm having a problem with this, recently, Crate-A-Day has been helping me set this up for my F2P accounts with SandBoxie Trial. All went fine until I tried to login to Steam in a SandBox, when I did, I got two error messages. One, was, "Can't connect to Steam, try later" blah blah blah, but when I closed that message, I got one I've never seen before. It was "Not enough Disk Space to run this game." That confuses me for two reasons. One, Steam isn't a game. Two, Crate has never seen this issue, has never gotten it and couldn't help me, can any of you? Edit: Tried swapping accounts, logging into SandBoxied Steam on my main, then normal Steam on my idle... Didn't work. Picture (Just in case):

Unfortunately you have to download TF again.
I have had this problem recently too. Unfortunately you have to download TF again.
Thanks, downloading now. Edit: Didn't work, it's a problem with Steam, not TF2.
Hi Quick question. I have my OS installed on 60Gb SSD. Not really a suitable environment to grow farm ;= . Is it possible to move all the accounts from my C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamappsfolder to other drive and access them through shortcuts. Thanks again.

What folders I should put on SSD to boost launch 10 idle accounts? GCF files, or steam folders?
What folders I should put on SSD to boost launch 10 idle accounts? GCF files, or steam folders?
All or neither. Launching on Steam checks the GCFs quick, and also checks if the related files are in the account_name folders. Unless your HDD is garbage, you really would only save a couple minutes per week...

Yes, it works.
So basically i copy my entire default Steam folder from C: to E: and just change mklink /D steamapps "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps" command to mklink /D steamapps "E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps" P.S sorry for not using multi quote option
What folders I should put on SSD to boost launch 10 idle accounts? GCF files, or steam folders?
I don't recommend putting it on an SSD. It will load faster but do you really really need that? Idling is a weekly thing and saving a couple of minutes is no big deal.
I can't start 20 accounts in 20 box's. Only ~15 accounts and then I have error. Why? I have error something about ports. Each account connect to own item_test map
To Boben, it doesn't work, I redownloaded TF2, the error is with STEAM, not TF2.
To Boben, it doesn't work, I redownloaded TF2, the error is with STEAM, not TF2.
Make sure you removed all tf2 files from tf2 folder, not just deleted content by steam. Make sure you redownloaded BOTH tf2, for idle and main acc.
Hey Boben, my brother also plays TF2 on this computer (It's the family computer, I want my own), would that one need to be deleted too?
Hey Boben, my brother also plays TF2 on this computer (It's the family computer, I want my own), would that one need to be deleted too?
All TF2 copies.
Hey is there any way to stop steam from downloading the media files in the steamapps/profile/team fortress 2/tf/media folder? The map intro videos and .bik files are taking up way too much space at around 1 gb for each account.

Hi all, I have amd dual core with 4 gb machine and even my hdd's are in raid and my pc run fast but problem that every instance of tf2 is using about 350mb of ram, and when i turn on 7 accounts it takes too much ram, i have read about config tweaks and i did some messing around with configs and i got it lowered from 500mb of ram, but its still too much of ram using. I read from few posts above that connecting to dedicated server would lower every instance of tf2 to only 150mb ram. Since i dont have server to connect how about creating server with one account and connect to that with other 6 accounts would that help? and if it's worth trying how to do that any suggestions ?
navigate to the folder the files are in, open them in a text editor, remove everything inside, save and set as read only
Thanks but I tried it and after Preparing to launch TF2, it just says game is unavailable. Once I unset it as read-only, it restored the files to the original size and was once again able to launch. Is there something I missed or does this method not work?
