I'm having a new problem : I don't know how to resolve that, but it's annoying, I can't idle and get my weekly drops from this account. (Just created this account and sent him that new upgrade to premium..)
you don't get item drops in the main menu, join or create a listen server to fix it
you don't get item drops in the main menu, join or create a listen server to fix it
I used the same codes on my first account, but this second account seems having this problem.
Shit just got serious? Game crashes exactly when it starts.
Shit just got serious? Game crashes exactly when it starts.
my sister started having this on her computer, maybe you have the same problem
I somehow fixed that, how I'm doing that the first user creating a server and all the others join his server? Thanks.

steam item manager keeps crashing since it's last update, anybody experiencing the same?
if i have "start" in my batch file, it doesn't work?
Hey, is anyone else getting the error "Steam.exe (main exception): Cannot open blob archive file: CMultiFieldBlob(mem-mapped file): Failed to open existing file, Win32 Error 32 'The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.'" This method of idling was working fine for me last week but when I tried it just now, it wouldn't start up.
yeah the big picture update fucked everything up, steam refuses to run in a sandbox now.
yeah the big picture update fucked everything up, steam refuses to run in a sandbox now.
Nope, still works fine for me. Have one Steam install per account and never run an update with more than one Steam running and you won't have any problems. You guys both corrupted your installs somehow.

I guess it was just bad luck for some people.
For some reason my first and seventh account will launch TF2. But the others will close instantly. All of them have Big Picture, don't think it's that...
For some reason my first and seventh account will launch TF2. But the others will close instantly. All of them have Big Picture, don't think it's that...
How many times need to say "delete content folders from /steamapps" after patches?
How many times need to say "delete content folders from /steamapps" after patches?
don't wanna download the whole of tf2 every patch. I've done it so I update one instance, then launch the rest. That has worked for me for a long time.
don't wanna download the whole of tf2 every patch. I've done it so I update one instance, then launch the rest. That has worked for me for a long time.
I make a backup of the last known good install, so if an update fucks things up, all I have to do is restore backup rather than download the game again.
Account folders, not tf2, god.
TF2 is stored in the steamapps folder... [editline]7th December 2012[/editline] nevermind, I fixed it.

yea but the account content folder is the one that is your email address? its still a huge directory, if every solution is to delete it, you are talking rather large multigb reconstruction/download each time..?
yea but the account content folder is the one that is your email address? its still a huge directory, if every solution is to delete it, you are talking rather large multigb reconstruction/download each time..?
No it doesn't. The ones with .gcfs have all the game's required content in the .gcf file; when the game's launched, it copies the required stuff out of the gcfs into the account-name folder, giving one folder per account. The ones with .ncfs have all the game's content in the "commons" folder; one folder for all Steam accounts. Boben is correct, it's 100% safe to delete the account name folders, and you won't lose anything other than stuff you've added yourself such as custom maps or configs.
Little confused.. i'm noob. "Q: I get "Could not connect to Steam network" while login / "File is too large to copy into sandbox". What's wrong? A: Check your resource access rights from step 3." I get the "could not connect to steam network." error starting steam from my copied directory in sandboxie explorer. "3.Right-click the sandbox and go to settings. -Restrictions->Drop rights->Drop rights from Administrators and Power User groups must be unchecked. -Resource Access->File Access->Full Access and add the HDD Steam is installed on or add specific Steam folder. <--VERY important step. 4.Right-click on your sandbox and Run Sandboxed->Run Windows Explorer and navigate to Steam and log on to your alt. 5.Apply your idling settings and run TF2. Then run Steam normally and idle with you main. If you get an error you have to wait until the first instance of TF2 finished loading. Congratulations. You are now idling with 2 accounts simultaneously. If you want to trade between accounts just remove the idle settings and run TF2 normally add your idle account as friend and use the Steam trading feature. It lets you trade more than 8 items at once." Yes I did this, but still it won't connect... i disabled oracle vbox virtual network adapter just in case, and tested internet explorer from sandboxie startup, it can access the internet so it gets a little more confusing. the "drop rights" every tutorial seems to emphasis is now default unchecked on install. I guess it gets a little more complicated if you use a symbolic link directory to save space...have to preserve my added stuffs.. F2Ps can't initiate adds but can accept them.
Anyone else having that problem, team fortress 2 completely loads & connects in textmode but it just shuts down without any errors or anything at all.Started happening after big picture update.
hm, mine works but i made mine after the update. "tf_server_identity_account_id not set; not logging into registered account" is the last line in my text, just curious what it means. finally got maid working, more convenient:) i got stuck on the config for maid by temporary retardation, the /box section confused me until it meant the name of the sandbox -_-. is it bad to shutdown by closing the text idle window with the X box? or do i really have to use the shutdown group function in maid....just wondering if i'm just killing the process by closing it that way or if it knows i'm exiting it... anyways, i see the idle account playing tf2 though even with that weird line. is there a limit to the number of accounts per card/paypal?

For instance, where you Steam folder is for each account, sandboxxie name etc.
How much ram hl2.exe will eat (connetecd to deticated server) if I upgrade ram from 8GB to 16? Current 250mb
how do you get it so low, i'm using the m.a.i.d. bat launch and its taking 560mb for hl2.exe, i assume "private memory" in task manager is the right column? nm figured it out, used the idle cfg posted by diomac

fps_max 30 r_rootlod 2 r_lod 2 mat_picmip 2 threadpool_affinity 0 mat_aaquality 0 mat_bumpmap 0 mat_antialias 0 mat_reducefillrate 1 mat_specular 0 r_shadowrendertotexture 0 r_waterforceexpensive 0 mat_hdr_level 0 mat_hdr_enabled 0 mat_hdr_level 0 mat_hdr_manual_tonemap_rate 0 mat_aaquality 0 mat_use_compressed_hdr_textures 0 mat_disable_bloom 1 mat_bloomscale 0

So right now each steam directory is ~2gb, i symbolic linked the steamapps directory, what other directories and stuff aren't needed and can be deleted to save space? 2gb for just steam, i'm sure i have some cruft in there somewhere..
