I'm sure I've read something before, explaining the reasoning behind the number.
If there [I]is[/I] a reason, it could be interesting to play off of that with different/smaller numbers.

If I had to say one issue with it, I'd say it kind of bothers me that the general colour scheme of the lunchbox and the toolbox don't entirely match.
The lunchbox is a tad more lighter red then the toolbox.

Yeah, I've never been very good at matching TF2's art style
I just thought it was a pretty nifty looking weapon and might make a decent replacement for something like the L'Etranger

No, i'm disagreeing cause this doesn't quite make sense and the design of the gun needs to be stylized
I'd suggest turning the older one into a pistol instead, seems like that'd be easier to pull off
