It's not your fault, it's a compiler issue. Here's how a LOD works when compiled: only the vertices that have been changed (added, moved, deleted) are saved in the MDL in addition to the original LOD0 mesh. However if a vertice has only been moved a very tiny bit (like 0.001 or something) the compiler doesn't recognize it as changed and still uses the position from the original vertice which then produces those gaps that you can see and which is exactly your problem. You're gonna have to move the vertices of the LOD a little more and the gaps will be fixed.

i currently have the little feathers and rope jiggleboned. however as you can see, its still lifted up in the air. is there a certain $jigglebone setting that will make it fall down, or should i just move the model itself?

Looks like the jigglebone is sitting on the wrong axis. Try rotating the bone.

I believe there's a Shred Alert section in the Sounds section for TF2 on Gamebanana, one of them replaces the default with the Face Melter solo

I love it (though the light grey parts could be a bit darker) and I love what the sticker says. The UV mapping IS horrible on that thing (but the UV map was made by Valve).

I think it's a compiling error that occurs when you've merged verts. Use "Collapse" in the future and it shouldn't be an issue.
In terms of fixing the issue, AFAIK you have to retopo the parts with the error.

It's supposed to be a crudely drawn evil tiara-crown out of pyrovision, and a pretty princess nothing-like-ruskeydoo's tiara in pyrovision
