worms and plastic minnows is parodying "skill" videos - he takes a shot with blind luck and pretends its skill. He does this all the time. Watch his other videos, and you'll see that not only is he an excellent player, but he loves to make fun of the frag video style.

Whenever there seems to be a slight criticism about this guy's work, no matter how minor, some butthurt user will defend the VM's ass by claiming it to be a part of his "subtle" sense of humour.
Or that it's all, indeed, a big joke.

Apologies, it was more directed at those few who still haven't "gotten" the humor of the videos.
The whole "butthurt user" bit made me think you were among those few.

Perhaps he came off a little strong, but I see his point. TF2 is a game intended more for casual play than TFC, which is one of the reasons why Valve went for a cartoon-like artistic direction. Many people find TF2 more enjoyable than other, more competitive games because of this, and some competitive players ruin that by taking the game far too seriously.
I'm not at all saying that TF2 is for casuals, but you can't deny that Valve wanted it to be easy to pick up and play. TFC had a rediculous learning curve because of how fast paced and confusing it was to new players, the reason why Valve removed grenades and other features.
Really it's a personal choice, but a lot of people just want to jump into a game and enjoy whether they lose or not. People associate competitive gaming with those players who treat losing a game like losing a family member, and by extension, they associate competitive style HUDs and configurations with that mentality.
The point is, there's no reason why these players can't get along. That is one of the advantages of having dedicated servers, players can find servers that offer what they like and stick with them.
